Completely impossible. I don't know where Coro is getting this idea, but Beasley still counts against your cap figure since you amnestied Childress and can't amnesty him too. If Phoenix salary dumps everyone but Dragic and Bledsoe their cap situation looks like:

    1. Dragic $7.5M
    2. Hold for Bledsoe $6.6M
    3. Beasley contract $2.3M
    4. Cap hold for empty roster spots under 12 = 10 * $0.47M = $4.7M

So that gives $21.1 million. Subtract that from $63.2 million and you get $42.1 million. Since James and Bosh have more than 10 years in the league, their max is 35% of the cap, or $22.1 million. So you're short $2.1 million even after renouncing everyone but Bledsoe and trading everyone but he and Dragic for nothing.
Thank Christ. My stomach has a knot this (>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>) in' big.

All I know is that it's been reported everywhere. Wojnarowski claimed:

The Suns have $33.5 million in salary-cap space and could shed the next $10 million needed to sign James and Anthony to maximum contracts without unloading the young core of guards Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic and center Miles Plumlee that pushed the franchise to 48 victories in the Western Conference last season.

I don't think they can go over the cap even to resign their own players. I mean I'm sure someone would have mentioned that by now if they could. I don't really understand the salary cap that well so maybe they can
The cap hold was put into the CBA to address this loophole. Fortunately for Phoenix, Bledsoe is coming off a really cheap rookie contract, so that cap hold is only about half of what his market value could be. So his $6.6 million cap hold counts against the cap and they can use their Full Bird Rights to go over the cap later to sign him. It's a great loophole for late first round picks who blow up their fourth year.

Washed-Up Wade costing the Heat free agents.... SMH!
How? He opted out and gave Riley breathing room.

Wade is most definitely not going to get what he would have gotten, had he opted in.

Riley just ed himself, imo. Almost impossible situation.

I was talking about the Heat. In the old days they could sign like Deng to whatever and then go over the cap to resign all their players i think but they can't do that anymore. I think that's what that guy was implying the Miami should do

For some reason people keep assuming a $20.5 million max, in which case they could just squeak by with keeping Plumlee and dumping everyone else.

Yeah, that doesn't work and Miami can't go out and sign Deng like that. James, Wade, and Bosh will all count 150% of their 2013-14 salary against the cap until either renounced or re-signed. That comes to about $86 million right now.

Pretty hilarious that Wade and bosh opted out to take a pay cut and it's looking like the roster will be just about the same as if they had opted in ie the big three and some scrubs. Lol dumb gots

If they opted in Miami could only offer the mini-MLE instead of the full MLE.

Since no one good seems to want that (Ariza, Deng, Lowry, etc) seems like its a slight difference in the scrubs they're gonna have around them at this point. I mean who are they even gonna get. Looks like nobody good at this point

Reporters have been really awful at understanding the cap this off-season. First, you had Aldridge completely botch the terms of a Leonard extension. Then, he messed up the LaMarcus extension talks. Now you have reporters confusing salary with cap holds.

The only way the Suns can really afford two max deals is if they sign one with cap space then S&T Bledsoe for the second. I don't know why it's so hard for the people who get paid to cover the NBA to understand the CBA.

Yep. It only made sense to give up that cash of he had full assurance of what Miami would do, with numbers in place. Even if the big 3 come back at this point, their roster won't really be improved. He gave up the money for nothing in that case

We're possibly a week or so away from the reality that Wade left tens of millions on the table so the team could sign Al Farouq-Aminu and Kent Bazemore. Couldn't happen to a better got tbh
