On the downside, article continues on about him being dead-set on overturning the team doctor and rule himself eligible to play in only 4-5 weeks instead of 8. So, odds of a busted up Manu in 2014-2015 are trending higher. Pop will have to rest him a lot more than if he just sat out the summer.
Worst case scenario, his stubbornness causes more damage and he requires surgery at the end of August. Probably six months of healing time if he needs surgery, as many as 12 months. Could be season ending and career ending if he s himself up coming back too early to play FIBA. Or, maybe we could get an out of shape out of condition Ginobili in February or March.
Slightly better case scenario, he doesn't require surgery, but aggravates it, and we only lose him for a couple of months at the beginning of the season.
