Knew it was going to happen. Not a bad deal either. I hope Diaw continues to start as he did in the Finals. He's much better than Splitter.
Kawhi will be an All Star for sure if Boris starts...

If the Spurs are spending the MLE then Bonner is for sure gone if he won't play for the minimum.

Wow, Boris got fleeced. Especially considering that the spurs are oneofthe most profitable teams in the league .

I imagine the first year is as frontloaded as the CBA allows.
    Something like 8.0, 7.5, 7.0 would work.

    Minimum is 1.45M for Matt.

Really excited to get Boris back. Couldn't imagine this team without him next season.

Nice! Can't believe he couldn't get the third year full guaranteed though. I figured his market value would be about 3 years, $21 million guaranteed. I hope it's frontloaded too, since the Spurs are in no danger whatsoever of hitting the luxury tax level this year.
yeah hopefully its structured like splitter's

Woj says the first two years are $18.5M, but no way that works under the CBA if the total deal is $22.5M, right?

Pretty much win-win to do it that way. A little more capspace next year and Diaw gets paid in today's dollar instead of tomorrow's.

It really helps that every other team knows that Boris would tank it for a ty coach and low IQ players.

, he might even tank it during the reg season next year. But I'm sure as glad he's back tbh.

People who come up with bs like "what other players make has no influence" can now stfu, it's no coincidence he agreed to take the exact same salary as Manu.

No it doesn't. I'm sure the 18.5M number is the total of the salaries for years 1 and 2 plus the guaranteed portion of year 3.

Yeah, I bet a total of 18.5 is guaranteed.

I think RC made a of a deal here. What a difference having a great GM makes, compared to the early 90s when the front office kept ing things up around DRob.

Right, and I think the $18.5mm guaranteed is over the three years not over two as some people have quoted. That means year 3 would be $3.0mm guaranteed out of $7.0mm.

so basically we have the same roster from last year, but need to presumably make space or Anderson. does that mean its over for Bonner? I'd rather have kept bonner for the min than keep daye around

Woj has great sources, but apparently isn't that strong on his cap knowledge. He laid out an impossible scenario for Phoenix to max out James and Bosh in an article this week.

They ended the season with 15 on the roster including Damion James. They have enough roster spots to bring everyone back and add Anderson.
