He'll have to be on the 15 man NBA roster at all times, no matter if he's playing here or Austin.
Not sure what you're looking for. He shot 40% this year. That's elite for a big.

Gasol should now consider us more seriously since this Spurs team is primed and ready to repeat no matter where he chooses.
OK. Thanks!
You can't find out you're done until you are. I'd hate to see Timmy wind up like Hakeem, a sad shadow his last year.
Double up and punch out. If Manu and Tim roll off, that would also allow us to pitch Gasol with a 2 year MLE deal with an opt out next summer, and pay him more than OKC or Miami can.
I'm satisfied. Good deal for both sides, tbh.
Now let's just try to keep Baynes and maybe our stretch four +/- king Bonner!
I saw Damion James on a summer league roster that wasn't the Spurs. Detroit, I believe.
Our FO got it done! I don't think any other team in the league that is a better fit for Boris so I am glad he is not going anywhere. I am not sold on the idea of targeting Gasol with the full MLE, but if we get him, so be it. Maybe being in a better culture and not having to carry a team will rejuvenate his career? Spurs are know for jump-starting veteran's careers so anything is possible.
I think the mention is just FO trolling, so everyone jumps on the Gasol ship, and throws a wrench into the mess that is FA2014, while SA either does nothing and laughs or does a sneak-a-roo....
or I could be totally wrong and SA gets Pau
Either way, GOOD CONTRACT
If you can get Gasol for the MLE, you do it and figure out the rotation later.
Ah, I was so close!
Anyway, this is awesome news. Anything else the FO does after this is just cherry on top tbqh.
Fantastic player for what he brings to this team at fantastic price, Spurs front office does it again!!!
I think Diaw's market value was 3 yrs / $21M. The fact that he got $22.5M makes him slightly overpaid. But given that only $18.5M is guaranteed, that more than makes up for it, especially if the contract is front loaded.
One thing Spurs fans should watch out for 2 years from now is Boris being dangled as a trade chip. A partially guaranteed 3rd year would make him an intriguing asset for a team looking to create cap space.
