The Rockets should forget Melo and hold on to Parsons. Morey should be looking for a new HC instead of chasing a career loser.

    parsons is very underrated

I hope Houston wont lose him as it would be a step backwards toward a true elite team

So true. Melo is such a bad fit for the Rockets.

Parsons has been called "underrated" so much that he's cycled all the way around to being overrated.... how soon we forget how he proclaimed himself as "the best small forward in the series" these playoffs only for Batum to take a sloppy wet on him

Dallas should go for Thomas over Parsons -- more attainable and a better fit. They really need a defensive specialist on the perimeter. Tyson alone does not make Dallas' defense elite.

If Dallas gets him on an offer sheet quickly it gives Houston limited time to get deals done before Parsons' cap number es. Houston was stupid to not exercise his option... All to save a tiny bit of cap space which they probably won't be able to use anyway

This is Cubes way of giving Morey the big FU when Morey went after Dirk

Morey will match. Cuban could only himself over on this one.

Would Parsons signing the offer sheet change the cap situation for Houston at all?

He would do course and Cuban knows this but it couldn't happen at a more critical time with Lin's salary still on board and Morey going after Bosh or Melo for the max, Cubes is just being a mischievous SOB .

Yes. Which is why he needs to wait until they use their max money elsewhereand THEN sign a sheet, or he could really them over.

Which is why Parsons probably won't sign anything before they make a move. Probably a wink wink deal between him and Morey.

We've talkef about this, but it makes decent long-term success to givr give Parsons a new deal now rather than waiting a year or extending him. It allows them to make his cap hits more manageable down the line.

I wonder how much that's worth... it's not like Parsons owes anything to Houston, they didn't pick up his option and he has an offer he likes from the Mavs...

They are paying him a year earlier when they didn't have to. He does owe them in a way.

Makes the hits smaller down the line but much larger than it otherwise would be this year, although if he waits before signing an offer sheet it could offset that. But it's ultimately one less year of potential control

Yeah, honestly a Mavs team with Parsons is better than a HOU team with Parson (assuming) they stay pat tbh.

If he likes the contract and the organization then I don't see why he waits to sign an offer sheet. Maybe he's pressured to wait by Dwight or something, but I say sign it if Cubes is willing to fork over the cash.
