xmas is not a troll. And if you do consider him a troll then so are Blake, Chump, and various other bold members on this site.
no, thank you for the validation
Can we just drop it and gentlemanly agree to be able to disagree?
You made a valid point with the mud analogy, I got it.
I am no idiot, nor a troll. And I don't think you are either.
So this mud slinging does not do either of us any good when we could be discussing and debating Spurs related topics.
I don't know what's worse, debating who is a troll or debating whether the time and process it takes for a DNS change to be reflected in local DNS servers should be called DNS propagation.
I'm just glad that the forum is still here.Thank you, Kori.
keep up dem marathons brah
Thanks! My spring plans were derailed by the whole kidney removal thing, but I'm signed up for the Richmond Marathon in November.
I thought it was all over, I got pretty bummed.I was really gonna miss the trolls and the cliffjumpers and the bandwagoners and the useless arguments tbh.
If that happened you would definitely be leading the charge.
I don't know what I'd do without this racist, xenophobic, and all around Xanax-induced forum in my life. Glad it's going to stick around.
I got them both on ignore.
Worthless posters.
I thought I needed to go back to Lakers ground![]()
I also thought bible-thumpers and anti-racist groups already took control of the website. Worse, I thought lefty and his band of terrorists launched a full-scale jihad on the website
xmas is very much so a troll, and quite effective. annoying when he pulls that in the spurs forum though
Thank you, Rob, for having the balls to tell the truth around here.
I have learned to use the ignore function on here as suggested by some of the decent posters in order to weed out the worthless ones.
Makes a huge difference.
I troll a lot but usually when I see that somebody posted something stupid.
xmas is a troll under his own definition of troll, but I don't really see him as one.
I just see him as being an idiot that has trouble reading English.
Spurstalk is still inaccessible at work (telecom company) this morning. I'm having to use a UK VPN connection on my iPad to access it. I still couldn't access it normally at home last night, but I could at least edit my hosts file to make it work. The security policy/software on our work laptops ignores the hosts file, so that won't fly here. (The site was fine at home this morning.) I'm not sure what our internal DNS servers are doing.
It may take a while still. It was down for me here at work first thing, but it showed up later.
Still having issues, links not working sometimes...
I'm still having issues over here, anyone else experiencing problems?
My guess is that some DNS or DNS admins have screwed up their DNS or are using some bad DNS implementation
;; ANSWER SECTION:
spurstalk.com. 28800 IN A 91.185.193.217
;; ANSWER SECTION:
www.spurstalk.com. 28800 IN A 91.185.193.217
both domain names have time outs of 8 hours, which by now should have caused all stale records to have expired. 28800 is seconds
Ever shorter is the negtative TTL for caching "no answer" responses:
;; ANSWER SECTION:
spurstalk.com. 28800 IN SOA ns1.spurstalk.com. root.spurstalk.com. 2005051623 28800 7200 604800 >>> 3600 <<< seconds
which "should" be used by DNS to remember/cache a negative answer (eg, no DNS answer for www.spurstalk.com or spurstalk.com) so the DNS won't repeat a query that got a negative answer for one hour.
My guess is that while BIND DNS acts correctly some ISPs mess with the DNSs to modify behavior, and then there are off brands DNS like MS DNS, etc, that that have long history of non-RFC behavior and non-"best practice".
And then there is the DNS caching locally in Windows.
Same here.
Yes. Several devices on the same home network with different issues. No problems with phone or Kindle via wifi. PCs were unable to connect until this morning. Now connected with intermittent problems (unable to access server, but connection made after several reloads).
