This is the best, and probably only tactic, bombing the local DNS with queries until it finally get the right, positive answers.

Happened to me last night, wifi-tethering my tablet to my iphone/ATT. Couldn't get spurstalk, but after a couple browser reloads, all was ok.

oops, of course the NS records for spurstalk were changed in the .com parent servers from ns12,3.spurstalk.com to someother NSs:

now the NSs are back to spurstalk DNSt, but note the 172800 seconds/48 hour TTL (time-to-live in DNS caches) on those NS records.

dig @f.gtld-servers.net ns spurstalk.com

spurstalk.com. 172800 IN NS ns1.spurstalk.com.
spurstalk.com. 172800 IN NS ns2.spurstalk.com.

You will need to run Notepad as Administrator to edit the hosts file. Right-click on Notepad and select Run as administrator.

Add the entry I posted earlier and save the file.

Open your browser and try ST again. It should work normally now.

But Tue night, spurstalk not found, but a couple browser reloads brought right up.

If you're using a Mac, it's at /private/etc/hosts. It's easiest to use the terminal.app, "cd /private/etc/", type "sudo pico hosts" to open the pico editor, and add the line that TampaDude typed at the end. Then ctrl-o to save the file and ctrl-x to exit pico.

Also you may have to edit the hosts file "permissions" by right clicking on it and clicking on the security tab then advanced etc..click on the boxes to enable them for your user name, then you can save the file with the new line added.
