The thing to look out for are the players who are either on 10 day contracts or traded before the end of the season or released players.

Make sure not to double count those who have won it already with the Spurs. Repeats would be Tony, Bruce, Manu, Brent, Beno, Matt, Robert etc....

I thought it was 50, but I see 49 up there.

    EDIT!!!!

Damion James 2014 Team makes 50!!!

On December 5, 2013, he was re-acquired by the Bakersfield Jam.[10] On February 20, 2014, he was traded to the Texas Legends.[11] On April 3, 2014, he signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs.[12] On April 13, 2014, he signed with the Spurs for the rest of the season.[13] On June 15, 2014, James won his first NBA championship after the Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 4 games to 1 in the 2014 NBA Finals.

Counting teammates who only appeared in the playoffs, Robert Horry won rings with 51 other players.
Only all stars should count tbh, not role players who bounce around to the best teams

Speaking of which, "with the same team" was part of the record, so that technically disqualifies him anyway.

I looked at Horry only because someone suggested that Horry might have the overall record without the qualifiers of "with the same team" and such.

OK, this is getting interesting, didn't Elgin Baylor technically win a ring with the '71 Lakers, even though he retired prior to the 33-game winning streak?

It's not interesting at all. You can make up a virtually infinite number of these specific, arbitrary records. So and so is the first player to score at least 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists in 20 minutes at the age of 35 (or older). No one ing cares. If you dig deep enough you'll be able to find and fabricate 1000 things that Tim Duncan holds a record in.

This record is especially stupid because your "with the same team" qualifier adds nothing to the prestige of the record. It's effectively used as a tool to eliminate better players.

First eliminates the possibility of anyone else ever breaking your record. That's actually pretty deep if you think about it

It's funny during our championship ceremony stuart scott had to add a key qualifier to yet another inane record - Tim duncan is the only player in nba history to start for a championship team in 3 different decades. By adding the "start" qualifier he eliminated some no-name scrub from the compe ion. It's ing ridiculous. Just shut the up already.

The Lakers gave one to him, but he ain't an NBA champion. The organization can give a ring to anyone they want. So if the Spurs wanted they could give a ring to Nando and it still wouldnt make him a champion.
