Nets are dumb helping a rival, unless they're fleecing them of multiple picks/assets.

Past bad decisions coming home to roost. They needed to replace Livingston and they're looking to reduce their tax bill.

You're correct, of course. Poetic justice would suggest the Cavs with LeBron sweep the Nets out of the playoffs next season.

Wow, so CLE had to give up a 1st round pick, Zeller AND Karasev (19th pick in first round) to dump Jack? Holy sh*t.

If Lebron doesn't go to CLE, wow.

    That would be typical Cleveland.

Great job by Boston. Who cares about taking on Thorton's short deal when it won't likely have any ramifications on future moves and they will likely suck this year anyways. Getting Zeller + another first for doing so when they have tons of room anyways is solid.

BKY having to operate with taking less money back, but they got the better player so it makes sense for them.

CLE taking a massive gamble to go for Lebron.

No way they do this without receiving a committment right?

I'm assuming it was CLE giving up the first rounder and not BKY. If it was BKY, then it makes the deal a little more palatable for CLE but still a lot to give up for dumping Jack (Zeller & Karasev).

On second thought, I bet is was BKY giving up the first.

They got to save money in the deal while getting the better player at a position of need and got what was the 19th pick of the first round this year. They gave up the first to Boston I bet.

Ainge continues to collect pieces for a Kevin Love trade. Even Thornton's sizable expiring contract could be useful in that regard.

I cannot lie Ainge has been playing this new CBA wisely. if he can get something worthwhile out of Rondo ...
Got rid of vets for picks/cap-space.
Solid draft pick with smart. Re-signed their best perimeter defender.
    Added another pick.

Where do you see that? Everything I have seen just mentions the 3 players: Jack/Zeller/Karasev

I really wonder how much of this move has James' approval, though. Perhaps Cavs make this move knowing that if they whiff on Lebron, they will just go after another top FA or perhaps a couple of middle-tier FAs to put around their core.

My feeling is this is more of a gamble by the Cavs, but...Holy , the fallout if James doesn't go back to Cleveland now would be astronomical.
