Again, the Cleveland media is running with every rumor that favors them regardless of its validity.... every date/time they've pulled out of their ass has been wrong.... how is that LeBron's fault?
If his agent is saying this how would the Cleveland media not run with this?

It's not even his agent, it's "a source close to his agent".... considering how consistently wrong the Cleveland media has been about everything for the past week, shouldn't they start to call bull on these "sources"? Because they're clearly lying....

This sounds like leaks from Paul. Maybe they're trying to scare the out of Riley to try to get him to make a trade.

James should be blamed for having no control over his employee, Rich Paul, who did a great deal fueling these rumors. It's a move that will damage James's image (if the doesn't return to Cleveland) and cost him millions. I don't buy Paul and other members of James' team were running wild without his consent. And if they were, they should be publicly fired, with James recanting the rumors they started.

Sheridan’s Top 25 Free Agents: July 10 Edition – LeBron going to Cleveland

July 10, 2014 by Chris Sheridan

The Decision has been made, even though it hasn’t been made public by the man himself. LeBron James is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a league source tells SheridanHoops.com.

James met with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Wednesday in Las Vegas to deliver the news, and Riley did his best to try to get James to reconsider, comparing the stability of the Heat organization to the relative instability of the Cavs, who have a meddling owner and have changed general managers and coaches several times in the past few years, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The meeting lasted about an hour, and James and his advisors then met for dinner. James’ stance did not change, according to the source, but no public pronouncements were made. An official announcement will eventually be made on www.lebronjames.com, as I first reported Tuesday. The news should become official before James leaves Saturday for the World Cup final in Brazil.

For Cleveland, this is one of the most important events in the city’s sports history. No pro team has won a le of any kind since the Browns won the NFL Championship in 1964, and now there is a distinct possibility that the 50-year drought can end. James will be joining a team led by Kyrie Irving, who just agreed to a five-year contract extension, along with Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in last month’s draft.

It is a young core that will grow older with James as their tutor and leader, and he returns to Cleveland as a grown man who has learned what it takes to win. The Cavs prepared for the move by dumping Jarrett Jack, Tyler Zeller, Sergei Karasev along with a 2016 first-round draft pick to clear $23 million in salary cap room (they received nothing else in return) — the surest sign of all that they are expecting James to return.

For Miami, it’ll be the end of an era — a four-year period in which a superteam was constructed and went to four straight NBA Finals.

Why is this happening? It comes down to LeBron building a legacy, which leads us to three points:

There is nothing left for him to accomplish in Miami. He went there for four years, he went to the NBA Finals all four years, and he won two les while learning what it takes to be a champion. Nobody can ever take that away from him.
A chance to return home as a successful, seasoned adult with a chance to deliver the city of Cleveland its first championship since 1964 is too much of a legacy opportunity for James to pass up.
And another thing: With all due respect to Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, the best player he has a chance to team up with is named Kyrie Irving.
Once James makes his intentions known publicly (and the same goes for Carmelo Anthony, the free agency dam is going to burst. On Wednesday, ‘Melo reportedly would stay with the New York Knicks. A day later, the Bulls were said to be remaining in contention, according to several news outlets.

If it seemed a little fishy, that would be understandable. Rarely, if ever, is NBA history has free agency been held up with so many mysteries. Among front office executives and player agents, a backlash was starting to build because of the logjam in the trickle-down market.

Eventually, the second tier of Greg Monroe, Pau Gasol, Trevor Ariza, Luol Deng, Lance Stephenson and others are going to lock up their deals in a very short span of time, and it is going to be madness.

We have been telling you for weeks that Cleveland is in the hunt for James. Some have dismissively scoffed at the notion. Others have surveyed the landscape, summoned their inner Spock and said: “Why not?”

James traveled Monday to Las Vegas, and a source who has been briefed on James’ free agency maneuverings told SheridanHoops that James’ inner circle, from his wife, Savannah to his agent, Rich Paul, to his best friends, Maverick Carter and Randy Mims, are unanimous in their belief that James’ best move is a return to the team he played for from 2003-2010.

Fans in Cleveland have been holding their collective breath, and now they can exhale. The chance for the city’s first championship in any major professional sport since 1964 is now a distinct possibility.

The Cavs were the only team able to offer James something no one else could: Redemption. Let us not forget that we have reached the four-year anniversary of “taking my talents,” Jim Gray, Cavs fans burning jerseys and Dan Gilbert wrongly predicting more championships for Cleveland than Miami in his infamous comic sans stream-of-consciousness Internet post — a post that was purged from the Cavs’ Web site overnight Sunday.

Rarely has the balance of power in the NBA hung in the balance quite the way it does now. It was a similar situation four years ago, and we all were witnesses to how much sway The Chosen One holds over our beloved Association. Now, it is a question of whether he can turn a young nucleus led by Irving and Wiggins into championship material.

Cuban in ClevelandThe man who has been greasing the skids for this epic event is James’ agent, Rich Paul, who met with potential suitors in Cleveland during the first week of the NBA’s moratorium on signings and trades, which expires July 10. Much of Paul’s work has been taking place under the radar, although there have been clues, such as Mavericks owner Mark Cuban being spotted in northeast Ohio. The Lakers had a stealth meeting Friday, and the Rockets and Suns also spoke with Paul.

Thursday afternoon, the NBA buzz of the moment was the fact that Dwyane Wade appeared at LeBron’s summer camp in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, on the Carmelo Anthony front, he has finished his tour of meeting with prospective teams and was told by the Knicks that they are indeed willing to make him a max, five-year offer. His decision could come at any time. The Bulls were the flavor of the night Thursday. I think he is staying in New York, believing in Phil Jackson’s vision.

One piece of business that could speed up James’ decision is the Mavericks’ offer sheet to Chandler Parsons, which was tendered Thursday. The Rockets have the right to match the offer, but if they match it before Bosh makes his decision, they will not have the cap space to get Bosh.

At the urging of LeBron James' agent, the Cleveland Cavaliers are pursuing a maximum contract salary slot to bring back the free-agent superstar, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Rich Paul, the president of Klutch Sports, has been funneling belief into the organization that the Cavaliers are in strong position to lure James from the Miami Heat, sources told Yahoo Sports.

For years, Paul has confided to people that bringing back James to Cleveland has been something of a mission for him, and he's encouraging Cavaliers officials to offer no restraint in the recruitment of James, sources said.

He doesn't have sources (at least non credible). He's making up what he thinks will happen, claiming sources and if he's right he can claim it. He's been wrong so many times he has no credibility. He's not reporting on actual sources and research, just guesses.

I've said all along that if I were LeBron, I'd be firing Rich Paul right now just in case it's really him leaking this .... in fact, if I were LeBron, seeing how ty my choices are, how out-of-control the media is and the false hope that is being peddled, I'd fire Paul, cut off my inner circle, and announce that I'm starting free agency from scratch and open up the floor to any and all teams....

That being said, it's complete bull that the Cleveland media and national hack reporters can consistently tweet fake rumors with no accountability because if LeBron doesn't come back, he'll be the one getting all the hate and outrage..... Cleveland fans should be angry at their own local media for biting on literally any positive rumor and giving them false hope, not at LeBron....

When you take the sentimental BS out of it there's no reason why he would. If the Cavaliers were Detroit no one would think they even had a chance to get LBJ. All anyone would see is a 33-win team with terrible chemistry going on its third coach and second GM in three years. Even dragging around Wade's carcess for a couple more years is preferable to that situation, at least on paper.

Having said that, I still think he should come back.

Lebron is going to announce it at the World Cup during an interview at the Finals.

He is going back to the Cavs. With not only a more talented roster, Lebron sees the Marketing potential that he and Manziel have in making Cleveland a media sensation. There isn't a better time for Lebron to return to the Cavs.

After seeing 80% of Heat fans leave the arena before midway through the 4th of game 4, Lebron probably doesn't give a rat ass about heat fans at this point.

Another possibility: what if all these fake rumors are being leaked by the Cavs' front office under the guise of being "from James' camp" in order to get Cleveland fans' hopes up and guilt-trip LeBron into coming back?

Dan Gilbert is the kind of s bag who would try it, tbh....

I'd go to Cleveland if I'm him because I'd be mad as I took a huge paycut to sign Mike Miller and then the guy gets amnestied after being a huge part of me winning the 2013 le. He took the paycut for Miller, not for cheap ass Arison. I can't believe he'd swallow from his owner like that. Yeah, Gilbert wrote a re ed letter that talked all kinds of stupid , but he didn't con him out of money.

I don't think that should be enough for him to bolt and possibly miss out on another le or two. If I'm LeBron I'm thinking that as long as I can get through the East and not play the Spurs in the Finals I can still win les in Miami. In Cleveland even if everything else goes right this team won't contend for a le for two or three years even with LeBron.

There are 2 theories regarding Rich Paul:

1- Rich Paul is from Cleveland and spends most of his time there, he has constant contact with some Cavs people..he wants Lebron to return to Cleveland for the potential money he will make from the mass endorsements that will be generated from the "feel-good" story of Lebron returning home and the complete 360 of his image back to being a "hero" figure

2- There are rumors that Lebron's camp/Paul are leading Gilbert on, only to crush him..it's a legit rumor, tbh..
