I actually might root for him because of this.
Weird.
"I was young and immature, and I dissed my hometown for the sake of winning. Now that it turns out I'm not as good at that as I thought I'd be, I've finally realized what's most important to me: getting paid a lot of money."
Woo-hoo! Go King James!
R.I.P D-Wade and the Heat, their "fans," and DJ Khaled![]()
Well, we knew as soon as Beno signed, the rest of this stuff would fall into place.
This is unbelievable. Riley put together an incredible team for this guy. The Heat, despite beating my Spurs in 2013, were an amazing team to watch with great (perhaps the best in the East) ball-movement. On defense they truly innovated and now everyone is copying some of their aggressive trapping techniques and lightning rotations.
Why would Lebron leave someone (Riley, Spo) who got him to 4 straight finals? And, with an owner and GM that are so committed to winning and had proven they can get him to the big show, not once, but 4 TIMES! Honestly, there are what, 2, maybe 3 guys in history who can get a team to 4 straight finals. Unbelievable. This move boggles the mind. Cleveland doesn't have Riley and Spo. They don't even have an average culture. They are below average. They appear to be one of the worst run franchises in the league.
They don't just appear to be, they are. Despite two #1 overall picks, and 3 more in the top 5 over the last four years they were still a lottery team and got rewarded with another #1 pick. They've gone through 3-4 coaches, and several GMs over the same time period and their only saving grace has been Lebron's own sentimentality for the state he grew up in.
The essay was pretty well written. He probably had a ghost writer but I believe the essay was sincere and that it legitimately expressed Lebron's thoughts.
No matter what you say about Lebron, Lebron wouldn't go back to a hole like Cleveland without sincerely believing in his cause to make Cleveland a better place. Everyone loves to hate on Lebron and believe he has some kind of ego/drama queen personality but Lebron wouldn't go back to such a terrible place just because he wanted to be the hero.
Lebron James - went back home even when he knew he wouldn't win it all. My respect for him has zoomed. Best player in the world, and taking a decision like that. Here's hoping Cleveland doesn't screw it up and gets to field a good core that will contend. Would love to see the Cavs fight it out with the Spurs again for a le.
so who is staying in cleveland and who is going?
Guess that clear channel billboard was right!! In Cleveland he had no help so he fled to Miami!! While in Miami he saw the team was getn old do he fled again!! UNLOYAL! But the best journey man in the league & ever!
This isnt a heart decision.
This is a winning decision.
This Cleveland team has literally 3 times more potential than that Miami team.
Give them 2-3 years and theyll be unbeatable.
He gave up on Miami.
AAfter the finals most would have given up on Miami. They were not going to win another le with those three together and that bench they had. He made the right move back to the Cavs, most would agree there.
LOL @ the Miami "fans" that booed him in what ended up being his last game for them. Very fitting.
Because he wants to be Tim Duncan someday...
