Whether you like or don't like LeBron for whatever reason, I don't see a problem with this decision or how he did it this time. If he went to a team other than the Heat or the Cavs, you could call him a mercenary or a ring chaser and bash him for a number of reasons. But going back to Cleveland and for the reasons he suggested (whether the essay was scripted by someone else or not) makes sense for him, his heart, and his family. Can't fault a guy for going back to his hometown team and the organization that drafted him to try to make good. Perhaps leaving for Miami in the first place is the thing that makes the homecoming a little weird or questionable. But he accomplished what he needed to do by leaving, winning championships.
Now he can do what he wants by his terms, perhaps with a little less pressure, and at his own pace. He'll still be the best player in the league for a number of more years. He'll have young talent around him, and potentially be able to attract more experienced talent to join him.
Any other team would have opened the door to a load of criticism. Going back to Cleveland shouldn't really cause any issues for anyone, fans or critics alike. Miami fans should be grateful. They got two les and four Finals appearances out of him. And that should be solace enough, especially for a fanbase that is as exceptionally horrible and apathetic as any in the league, perhaps only next to Atlanta fans. They didn't deserve the two les they got out of LeBron.
Never a LeBron fan, I can completely respect his decision to go home.

not even, when he was trying to win it in cleveland it was him as the leader of a bunch of role players trying to win one for the city of cleveland, which is a story a lot of people bought into and rooted for lebron. Yah. But we're talking about the Lakers. Clippers were in the 2nd round of the playoffs and all I saw in DTLA were empty bars. Lakers have a high profile regular season game and you have people filling up the place, even with a ty season/record.
