I don't see why Gasol would make the decision to sign with the Spurs using the MLE today. Why wouldn't he wait and see what other teams can do to offer him more $.

Our MLE will still be there. ... perhaps we should fake interest in using the MLE on someone else to force his hand before other teams like OKC Chicago or Houston find a way to offer more cash.

Well, with teams like Houston and Cleveland trying to buy their way into a le and other contenders looking to improve, getting Gasol is more than just a luxury for us, who by the way, have failed to repeat.

Just got a call from a buddy a of mine who is connected to PAU via his fiancee ( Pau's cousin) that Pau is 95% set to sign with Chicago. Spurs signing Pau now is a long shot. Was told, the spurs was the second to last option. Only Lakers was worst.

I know he doesn't works at Tmobile. Guy flipping burgers at McDonalds could be a hacker. If someone hacked into NBA directory that list private numbers of players they could hack into a network and retrieve all the text from that phone. Your saying this guy is a tool. I am saying there is a possibility he has some illegal means he is getting his info. I am not taking this guy's word, but it looks like he is getting the correct info some where in advance on a lot of these signings.

I know you're a pessimist, but the Spurs are the champs that will return with the same roster(along with a 22-year old with star potential, for the first time in forever) next season..their main compe ion, OKC, didn't do anything, and Houston actually got worse(at the moment)..the Clippers added Hawes, but he's not a game changer..
