I hope jag realizes that we all know tspence is just yanking our chain. Does jag actually think we're taking this guy as a credible source?
He probably does. Most of us said Gasol wasn't going to come here even though this Spence character was adamant about it.
Some of us wanted other players instead until they were snapped up.
You have to wonder how long RC kept working on Gasol before he gave up on him too.
If there is a plan B, then the FO is probably in the midst of it now.
One thing is for sure, none of the Western Conf. wants the Spurs to get anyone else to help what we already have, especially since our draft choice is turning into full fledged steal.

So he's taking less money than he would get with SA(taxes) and is going to a team that has no chance of contending? Damn...he must really covet touches like Harlem said.

I'm sure the Spurs are capable of working plan B and C simultaneously to plan A. I'm equally sure RC knew it was a longshot to get Pau.

I'm still not sure how the money works out if there's no trade, so if all the other information is true, I'd say that the Spurs aren't dead yet unless there's nobody near Gasol with a calculator.

He led them in RS minutes, as well.
My bad, I meant MPG. I did look it up though because I was unaware of that. But Duncan only led in total due to injuries to Parker, Green, and Kawhi. He played more games than them. Point is, Bonner and Ayers combined 24.4 mpg in the reg season allowed Duncan to average 29 mpg and be rested in the playoffs.

In the playoffs Duncan's MPG went from 29 to 32.7, and Bonner and Ayer's combined MPG dropped to 10. They did their jobs.

Last year's Bulls team with a healthy Rose and Gasol could take the east.
What do you mean with "healthy Rose"? I can't imagine such a thing.

No worries. Didn't mean to come across as argumentative. I agree with what you were saying. They did relieve pressure off him during the season, and didn't cost the Spurs wins in the process.

That said, Ayres is barely an NBA player. I'd much rather have someone productive to step in in case of injury.

Couldn't get the idea of a bench role past his gag reflex, so he took less money. That surprises me a bit. I figured for sure the Chicago gig would pay better.

    It's all good, you didn't.

I was more talking to the Bonner and Ayers haters. As if the Spurs are going to find better players that will swallow their pride and play that role.
