    Harris-Ellis-Parsons-Dirk-Chandler looks decent on paper.

If Chandler is anything like he was last season, things could get ugly real fast.

And they seem to have lost what bench they had as well.

    It is.
I guess our definitions of "player" differ.
    Yet when I asked,

    You said rather ly

Thanks. Trying to have a legit conversation but I guess you're just too basketball savvy for the rest of us.

As I said, they're both niche players. RJ has a different skill set than Matt. Matt has actually improved his ability to play "basketball" so I can't see how anyone can say RJ is a better basketball player than him at this point. And I ing hate seeing bonner check into games.
It's not y. The bubble is because if you are just saying basketball skills for the same price RJ is better than Bonner (Bonner has regressed quite a bit - especially athletically). But for the Spurs, since this isn't a bubble where you just go after "the better player" and instead look at fit, Bonner is fine for vet min.

The comment was direct towards though laughing at RJ for the vet min vs Bonner.

Washington and Houston have agreed to a sign-and-trade for Trevor Ariza, league source tells Yahoo. Wizards get $8.5M trade exception.

What does HOU get out of doing the S&T?

Everything's dependent on Chandler staying healthy. If not, well it will be another first round exit for the Mavs. Cuban is going all in on these moves. With Dirk on his last leg, why not.

Aside from good will, nothing I can see. This is where we miss Bruno.

I just don't see much utility left in RJ. His game was based on athleticism and while he has improved on his 3P% he's still nowhere near worth playing meaningful minutes. I think Bonner for vet min on almost every team makes more sense than RJ for vet min. But that's my subjective opinion. That's why it's arguable.

Bird rights. This will allow the Rocket to resign Daniels and few other of their players last year to try and push their salaries over the cap and it will net them the MLE for this season. Only reason to make this trade really, plus Wiz get their exception.

They get to keep their MLE. I imagine when all is said and done, Ariza will be part of the Asik or Lin trade. And they get to keep the other exception.

The Bulls are desperate for cap space. Pau, Hinrich and Mirotic into Boozer's cap overage. I just don't see it.

What if they can't combine the trades? If Ariza is traded into Houston's cap space, they still are subject to the cap. What am I missing?

I see what you mean now and where the arguable came from. I don't agree that it's arguable Matt is better a basketball now or has ever been better than RJ, but from team fit/skill set, perhaps (on more teams outside of the Spurs). Either way, it's silly to discuss those two as much as we have

Alas, that is the joy of ST.

Spurs should see if they want to dump Snell. He should fit into that Nando TE.

Huh? The trade for Lin was already completed I thought. Sure, if they can do the Asik trade with NO (I guess that is not done yet) then that makes sense, but the reports didn't reference anything like that. They made it sound like it was a straight S&T between WAS and HOU which doesn't make any sense..

i know it seems fairly obvious, but when houston didn't just exercise their option on Parsons i called it a mistake, and it bit them in the ass

They don't have cap space. They'd have to renounce their TEs. They might not even include Ariza in the Asik trade and just use an exception.

How do they not have cap space? With Lin/Asik gone, they don't have more cap space than the MLE money? I know to get to a larger number in cap space (16M) they would have had to renounce/waived the non-guaranteed guys on top of moving Asik/Lin, but I thought just moving Asik/Lin gave them some cap space.

Also, I tried looking on ESPN and didn't see any TE's for HOU?

The Lin and Asik trades will both create TEs.
