Were talking about Ukraine. People tear down statues during revolution it's symbolic. They tore down Lenin earlier this year in kiev...Lenin represented soviet era oppression to them and many in Ukraine felt that the govt was a puppet to Russia still.
Typically al revolutions normally achieve is putting a new tyrant in power. That's what the picture means.
Btw russian nationalists hate putin
Good thread, tbh, gonna show these to friends and look artsy and deep..
I think you're confusing Putin with Lenin. Putin is the current Russian leader and has restored the nation's pride and military might. He's probably considered the best president in the last 60 years.
But the picture has nothing to do with that. The pictures are not for specific eras but are instead messages for all generations. That particular picture is saying that if the public doesn't like a particular leader, they can elect a new one that they like.
Really cool thread…Never seen these photos before
1st photo…ATM & Prayer rail...Worship of money?
LOL@ Farmer & his kitty….
Close...the one with the ATM is talking about how televangelists are using the bible to take money from their followers. They see their believers as a perpetual source of money like their own personal ATM.
Very Cool CTO...And very true....
3 people have told you so far that you're wrong. No offense but you're really dumb.
Because 3 SpursTalk posters disagree? I don't think so. Your Nazi schtick is played out and doesn't have much place in analyzing these pictures. If you want to have an honest debate about them, I'd be happy to explain why you are wrong in this instance. But calling each other names won't get anything accomplished.
Look at the picture. What happens when they tear down the statue representing the leader? A new one will pop up in it's place.
You can't tell that from the pic.
Are you re ed? It is turning on an axis
what the ??? That's just showing the time progression of the current leader. That's not 4 separate leaders on a wheel or something. Look at them...the images are identical.
Each leader is the same that's the point, one tyrant replaced with the next
They're 4 statues of the same looking leader pulled down and raised up again, imo.
Notice the ropes
They are identical. They aren't replacing one leader with a different one. It's showing time lapse. The progression of the rise and fall of a leader with the people being the ones in power.
i cant believe you s take this guy seriously
I know. Especially after all the Nazi propaganda.
Not worship of money. It's treating God like an ATM machine, you only pray when you need something. The cat is the universal repressive force in his paintings, the "they" in the equation.
The paintings reek of a very biased one sided plea for socialism. What he doesn't show is that the brown guys are washing windows because they rob, kill, pilfer and abuse drugs throughout their lives and so they are left in dire straits as older adults. In most cases, the poor are repressed by their own local leaders. Socialism is rife with misguided bull like this, and the artist sees the world as the evil successful vs the good losers.
Lot's of good ones - but my favorite is the Vultures with the dove. So true.
