3 things:
1) Audrey Hepburn was just a stunningly beautiful woman.
2) That picture of the boy in the slum is just unreal. True poverty.
3) That picture of Charlie Chaplin is really, really cool.

Oh man, Charlie Chaplin! All the photos are stunning. But I take issue with Elizabeth Taylor's green eyes----she was famous for her violet eyes.

I prefer the black & white versions.
I like how the one unemployed lumber worker had his SSN tatted on his arm. Avante was in more than one picture to be honest...the liquor store one with the brothers chillin and the one with Big Jay McNeely getting down. Had to laugh at the Goebbels one when he finds out he has the Juden blood in him--like the majority of the made Nazis did.

Yeah, Elizabeth at that age looks like a whole lotta fun, yo.
I think I agree with this. The pics are cool but there is something strange about seeing them in color. Can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's because I know they were originally black and white.
But something looks staged or off. They somehow look like impossible re-creations. Not all of them...
I'm guessing it also has to do with the lore of history. Like when we see them colored, we lose the sense of mystique and glamour of a bygone era. It doesn't hold the nostalgia factor to it and so it takes away some or most of the importance of the people pictured.

But even some of the ones that seem like the would be easy to recreate today...like the boy on the steps, the guys at the store, the car wreck...I'm thinking it would be near impossible to even come close
True. The car wreck is actually my personal favorite. Just people standing around waiting for AAA.
I think the people are standing there just freaking out that there's a car wreck. Like they hadn't seen one before.
