Lol taco bell
Lol obese
So it's Sunday and I'm heading to Taco Bell, along the way I see a yardsale, always stop if they look decent at all.
The guy has boxes and boxes of sports cards, yep...baseball, hockey, basketball and football. So I explain to him I'm heading to Taco Bell, will be back....
Anyway...
After trying to find the football cards from the others.....I come across a mint condition John Elway 1984 Topps rookie, the last time I saw it booked....90 bucks!
Now I don't wanna seem too excited about this and while the guy (I assumed) obviously knows cards to have them displayed as raggety as he did.....hmmmm?
I had an Elway rookie but a nephew of mine wanted an Elway for his birthday, I have regretted it ever since.
So...(I have a half dozen cards or so, with only that Elway rookie being worth anything, yep, trying to hide it, hahaha. Kinda like buying Kotex)
Avante...how much for these?
Guy...hmmmmm? I don't know, 15 bucks?
Avante...(my swiveled up)...hmmmm, 15 bucks?
Guy...how about 10?
Avante....cool! Sold! So why are ya getting rid of all your cards?
Guy...oh these are my brothers, he got called in to work.
Avante...(thinking, lucky me) so you into cards?
Guy...nope!
Avante...ok man, see ya.
What a time to only have 20 bucks and on empty.
So there's that Elway rookie on page two right beside Marino, Lawrence Taylor, Ronnie Lott rookies. Page one...Montana/Rice/Emmitt/Barry rookies, page three....Eric erson, Earl Campbell, Randy Moss, Brett Favre, rookie. 10 pages of stud rookie cards, the boss.....Jimmy Brown 1958.

Would ya believe the smallest running back on the Seahawks roster is 215 pound Marshawn Lynch?

Why would a legit Mexican eat at Taco Bell?

Got away with getting an Elway for $10 bucks is pretty good--the dude must've not cared anymore. Taco Bell is blechhh.
Fat status: confirmed
Boiled down: Avante got aroused and began to negotiate payments after being propositioned by another man....Avante...(my swiveled up)...hmmmm, 15 bucks?
Taco Bell was packed when I got there. And we have two of them in a 50,000 size town so what's that tell us?
Yep, right place right time scoring that Elway rookie.
Is this one dumb or what? Wow!
They all look like Durbeta next to Avante![]()
Why do his parents allow him on the computer so much?
I have a 2001 Peyton Manning card with game worn jersey and game used ball pieces embedded into the card. I've never actually physically touched the card. It's always been in a case and I plan on getting it graded after he's inducted into the Hall. Should score highly. It's been sitting in a box in my attic for about 6 years now.
That's a keeper. Not into cards?
Not anymore. I used to be but my grandfather was a comic books and trading cards dealer at the flea market in Austin for years. He told me that the bottom was coming out from underneath the market for both comics and cards, and not to put too much money into it because all of the new stuff won't hold value like the old stuff did.
Now my father is very much into cards. He collected cards for the MLB, NBA and NFL. He has some good rookie cards for NBA players but unfortunately no Jordan. He does have David Robinson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan's rookie cards. Those last three should be worth something someday. He had a Joe Montana rookie at one time in his life, but one of his ex-wife's (my mother's) male friends was allowed to stay with them for a few weeks before I was born. Allegedly, that guy stole some of my father's more valuable trading cards as well as both of his NCAA Division II championship rings. What a s bag.
Yep, s bag.
For me it's more about the memories. Every few months I'll sit down with my magnifying glass and go back in time. Back to Cookie Gilchrist, Joe "The Jet" Perry, Willie Galimore, Paul Lowe, Lenny Moore, etc. With over 20,000 cards it's takes me a long time to get through all of them. Meaning a good year.
While I care about value I'm not really into it for that reason. My favorite card is a 10$ Don Perkins (first stud Cowboy back) from that cool black 1962 Topps set. There were those stars on the shoulder pads and it's just a nice looking card.
I don't buy packs any more, just look to upgrade what I already have.
