Green would probably get offers like Korver's current deal, with maybe a slight increase for inflation. He may stay with the Spurs for less, though.
NO! Danny Green is a two way player. Korver is not! Danny Green is worth way more than Korver is

The Spurs moving back into position as a legit defensive and Finals-bound team really coincides with Danny's rise.

I cant believe how ing garbage Danny was in the league till we got our hands on him. He went from out of the league to starter and possible Finals MVP in 2013, its really incredible

Danny didn't really suck in Cleveland. His per-36 stats were 13/5/2/2/1. Pretty close to his current stats. He just didn't shoot threes as well and played very little. Cleveland was stacked at wings back then, although Green turned out to be better than any of the others. So they cut him after training camp.

Green also did really well in the d-league, forming nice back-court combos with Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak of all people. He averaged 21/7/3 per game.

While it's true Green fits very well into the Spurs' system, it's not true that he sucked everywhere else.

That left handed and-one on Lebron was special. No wonder the Heat didn't know what hit them. They had to guard everybody.

and Jordan got cut from his high school varsity team. Sometimes coaches make dumb decisions on who to cut... and sometimes players deserve to get cut, they work hard, and they become better players.

Getting cut 3 times made Danny work harder. I think there was an article I read about how Pop and Roy Williams had a phone conversation with Danny about altering his professional routines, and it really hit home to Danny that he needed to make some changes. He also really appreciated the fact that Pop and Roy Williams cared enough to go the extra mile in helping his succeed in the league. I think you will see Danny return that loyalty to Pop the next time he is looking for a new contract.

I always liked this guy, because he can shoot lights out when on and really defend.People hate on him for his ball handling skills, but we got Duncan,Parker,Manu and Boris to make plays.etc.Oh yeah he made a blunder in 6.So did alot of people.
I also did not like when Pop yanked him back in 2012 WCF vs Thunder after game 4.Panic move.

A lot of that is true, but it is not necessarily what he took issue with. It is that Chinook says that Danny Green was "always" good. The previous poster disagrees. I, previously disagreed with that statement. Danny is awesome. Much improved. A better player. That's why the conversation you mention was even necessary, Danny needed to improve. Chinook uses his PER numbers to say he's just about as good now as he ever was. He was "always" a good player, but then dismissively states, in passing, under his breath, almost, that well, yeah, his shooting percentage has come up...

I dunno, shooting percentage is KINDA a big deal. Especially for a 3 and D guy. Otherwise, you're just a D guy. Danny Green was not as good a player as he is now...and the fact that he was cut three times can't be dismissed. He shoots more efficiently, and he also has probably matured defensively, etc. Using the Michael Jordan example is a little unfair. That was high school. Michael...wait for this shocker...probably wasn't as good a basketball player in high school vs. his peers as he was in college and the pros. Michael's high school coach may have even made the right decision, no matter how salty Jordan is about it. It may have been the impetus to give rise to a college and pro player not deserving to be cut. High school kids are not all on the same rate of biological maturity. I grew five inches after high school and saw a guy, physically superior to me throughout my youth, at the hardware store. Short and pudgy, just a few years later. High school is a crap shoot.

Green got cut as an adult pro three times. Just a little different. But, using his PER and minimizing that he had to take more shots from the arc, at least, to get those 13 points is a problem. Daye shot a better percentage from 3 and had 13.5/6.5/1.8/1/1 his first two years in the league. Not significantly different numbers. Never got cut, only traded, and Danny's early career was touted over Daye's, by Chinook when they aren't significantly different in those first two years...Danny was a little better in some areas for his position, granted, but his shooting percentage was lower from 3 for both of their first two years, than Daye's. Chinook defends Danny's early career over Austin's, but it just doesn't bear out as being significantly better. Also granted, he is a little bit of a Daye optimist, like myself, but he definitely has a high opinion of Danny in those early years. Maybe a little higher than I think is deserved. Danny wasn't total garbage, but I totally understand the poster's confusion when Chinook says that Danny was always good. Danny had issues early on, he was just lucky enough to find his way to San Antonio early. Daye had to work his way down the ladder before The Spurs could afford to gamble on him. Green was already in the bargain bin from the get-go.

What a Spurs fan had to say about Danny's fan meet up in Corpus ..

Danny Green doesn't keep his word to his fans who he kept waiting for hours upon hours. Little kids waited patently to get his autograph only to get disappointed and left empty handed. All because he arrived there 3 hours late.

The whole thing was a mess! Green showed his true colours tonight by showing up late and having what looked to be an at ude. Seriously dude, get over yourself and be courtesy of others. Don't act like a complete asshole and act like its not a big deal.

    Cabron! SMH

Wow. Not happy to read that about Green. It seems like he does have a bit of an at ude. I mean, I guess he does if Pop had to cut him and then call his former coach up to talk to him about having the wrong at ude and almost pissing away his opportunity in the league.

So, one person on the internets posts THEIR interpretation of what happened, and you're ready to throw Danny under the bus? It was in Corpus. Maybe there was some sort of transportation issues, and that was what held him up and made him cranky.

    Unreal.

Didn't Pop cut him originally because of at ude problems? If not, I may be wrong on that, but if he did, then what that person said isn't that hard to believe. Having said that, he also could be wrong and Danny may have had a legitimate excuse for being late and didn't want to talk about it, so the person in Corpus may have got it wrong too. If so, I apologize for jumping to that conclusion. I pretty much based it on people saying that he had a bit of an at ude earlier in his career.

Danny never struck me as a humble guy, just a typical basketball player trying to act humble. Hey, appreciate the effort at least.

With that said, acting like someone's an asshole for being late is straight up woman-esque.

Yeah, he's always been sort of y. Supposedly, Pop didn't like that Green didn't really seem to think he needed to work to be in the NBA. He's the team ham. But his teammates seem to like him, so it's not like he's a locker-room problem.

Danny was great last games. He was changing shots, blocking shots, and he's the best shot-blocking guard in the league.
    Awesome effort/timing/ability.

Old article but I like Danny-Green-Rim-Protector
Green’s career block percentage – the rate of shots a player rejects per 100 possessions – of 2.2 is superior to the likes of Michael Jordan (1.4), Kobe Bryant (1.0) and even Dwyane Wade (2.1), widely regarded as perhaps the best shot-blocking guard ever. Indeed, according to Basketball Reference’s career list, his percentage is the best of any guard in NBA history.
