Now, not saying we still can't do that. It would just create extra effort on everyone's part. To do this, we'd drop the LeagueSafe dues from $103 to $80.69 ($78.34 x 1.03 for the convenience charge), then have everybody pay whoever we designate the treasurer the remaining $21.66 to hold for weekly payouts via PayPal.

This may be hard to do using LeagueSafe. I don't see weekly payouts as an option just glancing at the site settings. I'll call their customer support and hopefully talk to an American person about the ability to do that.

I'm in favor of the weekly point leader payout. My friend does that in his league, but they all know each other and someone in the league holds the money as treasurer.

EDIT: Found it in their FAQ's. Not an option unfortunately.

The way I was thinking is that we still do one payout at the end after figuring out how much money each person gets, that way we have the lowest amount of payouts possible. Even if weekly payouts were allowed, it would be dumb to do it weekly since leaguesafe dings you with a fee for every payout.

400 Yard Bonus = 3 I vote nay. I've never understood the bonus point crap. If you think about it, it doesn't make any logical sense to make it so 400 yards is worth 4 more points than 375 yards.

Receiving
Reception = 1 I vote to keep it at one point.
10 Yards = 1
Touchdown = 6
125 Yard Bonus = 2 I vote nay.

Rushing
10 Yards = 1
Touchdown = 6
100 Yard Bonus = 2
200 Yard Bonus = 4 I vote nay.

Kicking
PAT = 1
FG 1-39 Yards = 3
FG 40-49 Yards = 4
FG 50+ Yards = 5

Defense/Special Teams
P/A 0 Points = 10
P/A 1-6 Points = 7

Color Code

Red: New category, or score value was altered from last year's settings. Please reply with approval or rejection.
Blue: PPR value. Do we want to keep 1 for PPR or go to 0.5? Please reply with your preference.
Purple: Safeties were awarded 5 points last year, and there were a million of them. Just checking to see if everyone wants to keep this value at 5. Please reply with your preference, and if you want to reduce it from 5, what you would reduce it to.

Also for the scoring settings post I made, all of the values in black text (or whatever your default text color is), are untouchable as we voted on them last year. We did discuss altering PPR and bonus point values earlier in the thread, which is why we are discussing them now. As I was going through the settings, the safety thing came to mind so I included that.

Next year we aren't doing this focus group thing. This is primarily because last year was our "dry run". After Week 1 begins, whatever's in the Yahoo settings is permanent for any future leagues. Unless we were to add IDP, which we would then have to vote on those scoring values but I doubt the inclusion of IDP will pass a vote (even though it's fun as ).

If it requires no extra effort on my part, I'm down for weekly point winner getting paid. I've always liked that rule in leagues to keep me playing even when my team's late season record sucks.

DoK's weekly point winners is a great idea--this will prevent bag trades and sandbagging in late November since people have something to play for every week.

I ins uted this payout rule in my ESPN league last week and it was also well received.
