I didn't go into an extensive list because, well, I was reading stuff beyond my peers at a young age. I regret that, though, so I put two of my personal favorites. I put Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic because of the wonderment and the introductory feel of its prose. I think it is simple enough for even youngsters to understand but at least give them exposure to more headier stuff. Everybody Poops is a funny book and more aligned to the Cantthink mantra to be honest.
