Can't say I know the personal story of many board members. Funny that you assume everyone is as ensconced in this place as you though.
I think to answer the OP, there are outlets that are "ridiculously one-sided" for each side. But anyone with the time and reasoning capabilities of a 12 year old can distinguish biased journalism from objective journalism. I'll admit it is a bit more difficult to sort things out, even from objective sources, because the conflict is ongoing. Once this ends for good I think we'll be able to look back and get a better idea of what actually happened.
You got a DD "I make more money than you I'm smarter than you" rant that often accompanies a severe lack of confidence. You figure a Nazi would find a thread he knows nothing about and derail it by pestering.
Basically what I am interested in at this point is Israel winding this thing down and the Israeli's spying on Kerry's phone. The timing. Why did Der Speigel break this story now? And it really has not received a lot of press, also interesting as the Obama adm. had to calm the Germans down about our spying on Merkel's phone.
Im not in the know either.
Life is good that way.

It almost seems like "friendly" spying is commonplace now so it goes underreported.

And that's what's interesting. We know this happens. The key is making it public. And the timing.
Why now? Der Spiegel just became aware of this... Strange.
And then it may be a side note I only find interesting.
Interesting opinion on who Hamas now relies on:

lol israel with the propaganda , bombard ppl back to the stone ages and bring in medical supplies like ur doing some worth mentioning to hide what u just did...
Israel has always wanted terrorists dead and civilians out of harms way. The only discussion is how careful they were considering the terrorists intentionally hid weapons and themselves among the population. Israel was not careful in some cases, and they made some big mistakes, by their own admission and standards.
Where did you get the info that Israel is sending supplies?
Dont you remember the press lies for Israel ?
So again, you believe your statement to be true because you are on the ground in Gaza?
If so, we must treat you as unreliable, pro Hamas press.
And lastly, do you know computers as well as you know foreign affairs?
If so, everything you post about computers is fantasy based on nothing but your dreams.
I'd like to read this one, but requires subscription:

"How to Fix It: Ending this war in Gaza begins with recognizing Hamas as a legitimate political actor." by Jimmy Carter & Mary Robinson
The ?
is there some way of doing a deal that doesn't recognize Gaza's duly elected political representatives?
(by the way, Hamas would barely be there politically if Sec'y Rice hadn't insisted on free elections in Gaza, in 2006.)
as i recall, Bush and Rice insisted Hamas be allowed to offer candidates, back when they were a banned party.
Israel was against it.
SBM is silverblack mystic - perhaps the most idiotic poster on Spurstalk. Has famously bragged about his subpar income, how popovich is a terrible basketball coach, his job as a cop (he's a guard), and his band, which he posted his personal info to this board to get people to like his music then accused them of stalking him when it was brought up in a later thread. He also threatened to fight other Spurstalk members for embarrassing him, but was a no-show when someone actually went to meet him.
I'm actually sad I know all this. Or any of it.![]()
How the heck did I read it?
Im really not sure, I don't have a sub.
ohhh... I might have just typed the le in on a search?
Its very good. Everyone knows Iran is a player.
But it discusses how poed Saudi Arabia and Jordan were that Turkey and Qatar sat at a cease fire table. It concluded that Qatar and Turkey should have just sat with the Hamas representatives with as much $ they hand out to Hamas. I did not know the inside alignments and how they got started.
It also mentioned how Israel was appalled at the Obama Admin. actually suggested Turkey and Qatar sit at the table. I had no idea... This stuff is really complicated. Changing sides, reasons who supports whom... Messy and fluid.

Oh the Silver Misfit.
Did not know any of the above except the irrational hatred of Popovich and bizarre paranoia.
Got my fill, checked ignore. Along with the rest of that knee jerk group feeding off every possible conspiracy.
Thats a great find.
Those press guys are really brave. Hamas could have had other men watching the hotel windows or whatever, waiting to pick them off or at least confiscating everything they own. And how do they know the Israel response time? I would have been gone immediately after Hamas fired that thing.

It's almost worth unblocking to read. Almost. I don't know if I've ever seen someone so tied up in their online persona. Watching them get successively blown apart by about 80% of the forum definitely has it's guilty humor side to it. At least not since the naruto incident did someone make such a fool of themselves.![]()
I'll pass.
The articles others find for you on this site are occasionally great finds.
I was trying to find just what Winehole posted, I had no idea how Hamas fired rockets.
Had No idea what the basic setup was.
Really?
I have a hard time believing that. I don't recall any such thing.
Link please.
Not all that surprising there is now evidence of Hamas using civilian areas as staging sites for rockets. It doesn't totally negate Israel's response to those rockets but it will hopefully show more people the true intentions of Hamas. I think the first step towards peace is somehow replacing Hamas as the political decision makers in Gaza. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out, this likely only strengthened Hamas in the region.
