Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire were the ones I liked from my childhood.
My favorites all time are Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, and the Fisher King.
My first thought when I heard he died was that substance abuse had caught up with him, either an OD or just a heart attack hitting a weakened ticker. Damn shame, but as others have said, less than shocking. As the years go by I have come to think that Good Will Hunting has become a little over rated but every second Williams was on the screen was must watch stuff.

I think they want to kill the pain they feel - emotional or otherwise - but instead of just killing the pain - they identify with it (I am depressed, I am a failure, I am ) -
and so they kill themselves - when they didn't really have to.
ing HOOK! My childhood just died a little
It you listen to, not watch, Friend Like Me from Aladdin, dude poured every ounce of his soul in to that number. It's incredible.
Aladdin is easily his funniest work.
...and of course, the greatest cartoon to live action movie/musical ever made.
Speaking as someone who was briefly out on a ledge I can tell you that it was more like, "If I do this I don't have to wake up ever again." For a guy whose life, professional and personal, was so full of very sharp ups and downs it's easy to imagine that at his age he just didn't think there were any ups left to come.
Depression is real mental illness. It's not just being sad or upset about something then getting over it.
nanu-nanu
Wow. RIP to one the greatest to ever live.
one of my favorite stand ups. his take on how the scots invented golf is genius.
He probably did more blow than Stevie Nicks. Dude is a legend.
Wow this really sucks....Robin Williams was a great man, there will never be another...
That was fantastic.
His stream of consciousness comedy was the best. His brain was hooked directly to his mouth, I've seen nothing like it.
I too liked Aladdin. And I usually hate the animated movies. WTF...
really depressing. One of the best
"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it ~ R.W.
Can't forget this gem
Jim Norton, Doug Stanhope, Sherrod Small, Kurt Metzger, all giving love. Even Opie and Anthony
