Re-watched the second half last week and that really was intense. Remember that I was in a Hotel in Edinburgh on vacation and thankfully they had provided wireless lan for my IPad to be able to watch the game live. After it was announced that Tony could not return in the second half I thought "not again", but the Spurs played such inspired Basketball in the second half ... clutch play after clutch play ... awesome stuff

Yeah, I heard that too. I remember screaming at my TV and panicking because I thought he was gonna steal it
Duncan said in an interview that he saw Wesetbrook coming and tried to get the shot off before he could close.

I'm with you though..I started freaking out when I saw westbrook coming out of nowhere and that lob manu Pass..that I saw so many times get picked off last year.. made it worse.

Amazing game. Most of the big stuff has been noted. When I re-watched it, I was taken by the smart outlet passes, Ginobili running the offense, the spacing on offense and defense and how that led to crucial def. rebounds.
But the play by Kawhi, legendary, timely and so clean.

It felt like this game galvanized the Spurs and really proved that they could win a tough game 6 in a hostile arena in overtime. It was all downhill from there.

Such a tragedy that this game in its entirety wasn't included in the championship DVD...

oh , i'd forgotten that tony didn't play and that ing ridiculous goaltending non-call. that win was sooo sweet.
That goal tending would have been huge is we'd lost the game (or the series). Fortunately, karma repaid us by the refs ignoring Tim's destruction of Fisher on the Manu 3 at the end.

It was so scary because it was 100% like game 6 against Miami, and if we would have lost in OT, we would have been exhausted playing OKC in 7.
I said this during the game to myself and some others a few times, if we lost this one it might be 6 all over again, ANOTHER game 6 to haunt us. Game 7 is not guaranteed if you are tired on your HC! They had to close it out that NIGHT, period. That would be up there with 6 though if they lost, maybe even worse since their window might be shut and that would have crushed them IMO. They might have pulled off a game 7 but it's not guaranteed at all.

    Best Plays of the Playoffs:

    1) Kawhi Strip
    2) Timmy late game fade away hook in the same game
    3) Manu dunk vs. Miami
    4) Boris shot vs. Dallas

HM: Belenelli shot against the Heat in game 3 (i think)
I have Diaws three #1 since if he doesn't hit that shot they are not going to the next round IMO, they would be down 1-3 in all reality! Dallas was surging in that game, his three shut them up and shut them down. That shot was HUGE as the replay says, I watched it a few times.

And those two "blocks" on Duncan were all arms and no ball.

The fouls were racking up quickly for the Spurs, and they were over the limit with like 7 or 8 minutes left in the game, the OKC refs had zero fouls up to that point despite a couple of really obvious ones.

Overall, OKC shot 18 FTs in the 4th, the Spurs had 6. In fact the Spurs didn't shoot their first FTs of the quarter until the OKC refs narrowed the lead from 12 points to 3, and after the refs shot 14 FTs in the 4th quarter.

It was a horribly called quarter and I was surprised there wasn't more complaining on it.

Man that was dramatic. The second half and overtime of Game 6 kept me on the edge of my seat even knowing the outcome. Loved seeing Timmy down in the post like the old days taking us home. And on that last shot of his, Westbrook gets so close to stealing it or at least disrupting the shot not once but twice.

But, of course, it is Leonard's stripping the ball from Westbrook in the waning seconds that was probably the play of the playoffs for the Spurs. All the finals MVP stuff from Kawhi was great, but that play may have been the season. Legendary.

Yeah, this probably doesn't deserve its own thread, but its mid-August, we're all bored, and reviewing this game is just too much fun.
    OK !!!!!

Trust me, if the Spurs had lost, the conspiracy theorists would have been out in force. Especially after 2012 WCF Game 6.

Just watched it too, those ers tried to steal it from us. Had the game well in hand going into the 4th then about 3 min left a 2-pt game when they show the fts for the quarter 14-2 okc. They need to try to hid their screwjobs better. That's why against okc, or now cleveland we can leave no doubt cause if it's close they will try to take it.

Idk about that. The refs do give LBJ the benefit of the doubt because he is a superstar, but they don't really bail him out as much as you would think being who he is. Most of the the time when LBJ gets the favorably whistle he nine times out of ten had gotten mauled on the play. No touch crap that Durant gets away with.

I agree I expect lebron to get more calls then he does. But I was talking about game 6 against okc.

Manu was pressing too hard in OT.

But he made up for it in the end.

That sequence with Ibaka blocking his shot, but then KL returning the favor on the other end

When he strips/blocks Westbrook on the drive...

The pass to Manu... who then Calls a play!! with time winding down..

Manu realizes he has Ibaka on him and pulls him to the wing, at the same time redirecting KL out of the corner and creating a two pass play lane for Duncan,

via Diaw, back to Manu who throws the ball to Duncan down low with 2 smaller defenders on him.

Duncan spins past one, anticipates the other, so when Westbrook comes in, Timmy avoids the strip and, shoots over the top and scores....

Westbrook giveths and he takeths. OKc wouldn't even be compe ive if it wasn't for him carrying them for the entire regulation. Then OT hits and he goes full on ballhog mode, not passing to Durant at all.

Also, what type of play calling is that? Every single play was Westbrook ISO. Just horrible coaching.
