Regardless of the Spurs, will you continue to embrace another city's NFL team as your team, like Houston, or Dallas, or etc.?
I would call the San Antonio Raiders, or the South Texas Raiders, my NFL team.
What about you, or does it even matter?
EDIT: Please try to keep things in perspective if you can and realize this thread deals with a "hypothetical" situation and is not a real sure fire reality that is literally true or factual in any way whatsoever.

When the Raiders first came into existence in Oakland*** back in 1960 there was a ....name your team..poll. It came down to The Raiders and The Senors. If they did move to San Antonio....The San Antonio Senors...hmmm?

Doesn't matter to me, I don't like football.
"South Texas" sounds like a mid major college. Not into the nfl enough to call any one "my" team but would go to a game or two per season.
The Raiders are a ty franchise.
I'd prefer a shiny new franchise or none at all over the Raiders.
I understand preferences, etc., and that is fine, but remember, the Spurs were a ty franchise too when they first moved here from Dallas as the Chaparrals.
I honestly think that of all the NFL teams that could move here, the Raiders would have the best chance to prosper due to their mystique as being the "bad boys" of the NFL, the "us against the world" image that they nurtured similar to the Pistons of yesteryear of the NBA, the marketing strategy would be easy to promote, and embrace by the fans, and would even less conflict with the Spurs "good guys" image.

historically, the lipan apaches raided san antonio but we live in a politically correct society so theres no other way to tie that distinction to SA
I'm sure your first statement was meant to be a strong "opinion" and no more, because we don't know with certainty yet what will happen.
This is a "hypothetical" situation, not a literal certain situation. I explained this in the opening post.
But I do like your example about the Apaches, I had not considered that fact, very interesting.
they will always be my team... they've been a poorly run organization for a while now, but they're not a " franchise." 3 superbowl wins, 5 appearances, 13 hall of famers (more than Texas' beloved cowboys), not to mention Al Davis being the guy that made the NFL-AFL merger possible. the Al Davis led Raiders have also been leaders in the league's civil rights ideologies. long before the pathetic rooney rule, Davis was the first owner to hire an african american head coach, first to name a female executive, and actually refused to allow his team to play in cities which forced black and white players to stay in different hotels.

Grew up on cowboys. Even though I prefer following my fantasy football team over any real team, if I had to pick, I'd rather go to Dallas to watch a game than give any time or money to these Raiders.

Nope. They'd've had to come over in the early 90s. For that to happen. I'm a Ravens fan now, and nothing would change that.
