Correct. In my case, if turns off when I put near my ear during a call....but refuses to turn back on. Even pressing home/power key doens't work 80% of the time, rendering the phone almost useless during calls. light sensor seems ok for me now, as well as accelerometer and gyroscope. but proximity is messed up. got a tool that measures your distance from the sensor - when i cover the sensor it correctly shows 0cm, but when I remove my hand it still senses that it is being covered.
that happened to me with the One S

damn, that sucks. seems like there are ways to calibrate the sensor, but if it's just not working at all... I went the last month of my 4s not being able to use the sleep/wake button, then watching nervously as the Best Buy guy looked at it, saw the screen was on, the home button worked, then gave me my $200 credit on a trade in

HTC One S was my first Android, so it holds a special place in my heart
Amazing build quality tbh. You put it in your jean pocket and you end up thinking you lost it
Moto X, G, and E have been well-received and mean Motorola is headed in the right direction. Hopefully the Lenovo takeover doesn't them over too much.
Sony is probably the next best in terms of the quality of their phones - too bad they barely have a carrier presence (if any) in the US.
I don't know about the quality of Sony phones, but their laptops stink. Every sony laptop that i have ever come across has either an overheating problem, motherboard problem, battery problem or all of the above. I heard they sold the laptop division to some Japanese company. Toshiba is another company that should really be off the market.
