I don't care if Brown got into a fistfight with the cop earlier. Once he turned to run away that cop is unjustified in shooting him in the back.

Just like if someone breaks into your house then runs away, if you then chase him down the street and shoot him in the back it is murder.

It's not just a racial issue. It's also a, "hey, why are our cops geared like a division of our armed forces" issue.

Two completely separate issues. Brown's shooting may or may not have been justified, there just aren't enough facts to determine that yet but either way it was the action of a single officer. The transition to a paramilitary police force is a completely unrelated issue and has been occurring for decades. They have been used against Americans regardless of race. I see no reason why it will stop since most only oppose such tactics when it is useful to their political ideology/views, otherwise they are deemed appropriate.
