Pretty much. He can pass a little bit better and he's smaller, but it's a legit comparison. Tebow is a dumbass though. He could easily be playing the poor man's Gronk role for some team at TE.

Can't wait for the Browns to find him in a hotel room on game day in bed with several strippers and covered in blow.

I'll give him half a season.

Regardless of his size Johnny Football doesn't have the brain capacity to be an NFL quarterback. Remember, this is a league in which Donovan McNabb excelled.

^ Tried to tell this stick that Manziel would have the same problems Keenum had seeing how they both played under Sumlin in the same system. (Problems reading the blitz, needing to play majority of the game in pistol formation, and being wildly inaccurate and inconsistent)

Tebow was a good human being who was well respected for his work ethic, and he tried his best to improve and make in in the NFL. He constantly showed guts under center, and was rewarded with a Cinderella run to the playoffs and a playoff win. In the end though, he just wasn't a good enough QB to last in the NFL.

Manziel on the other hand is a terrible human being who has shown no work ethic whatsoever so far in trying to improve. I seriously doubt anyone in that Brown's locker room respects him or even gives a about him. I see him failing, and failing hard. He isn't a good passer, and we've already seen that if his first read isn't there, he tries to monkey it, which isn't going to work in the NFL. I not only see him flaming out of the NFL like Tebow did, but I see him with numerous run-ins with the law. The future is dull for him.

Even with his ty mechanics he's still the best passer in this thread he was at like a 70 passer rating or something when he retired. He was an adequate game manager if you weren't interested in paying him jack.

He's still better than Ryan ing Fitzpatrick and he'd sell jerseys in Houston. There's no point in playing him if you've got someone else with potential, but if you're just planning on playing a ty veteran--you might as well play the one people care to see.

Then again these were the same dumb s who were too risk adverse to take a chance on Peyton Manning. (Or too stingy money-wise, if you believe that, when they're going to end up giving 20 mil a year to JJ Watt soon anyways...)

See: Every system QB out there. At least Keenum went through his progressions, but Sumlin's offense is so damn simple it doesn't matter.

Keenum also played like 20 years in college while Manziel only played 2 actual seasons not counting his RS year. They shouldn't even be really comparable at this point, so if you are comparing them that's a major compliment to Football.

The goods. Tebow lacks the ability to accept his limitations but I agree that he tried his hardest and is probably a decent human being overall.

There's not a single person here in Tyler that grew up here that thinks Manziel's behavior is surprising. There's a generational curse on that family in regards to anyone elses rules but their own and Johnny isn't showing any signs of wanting to break it. That's the biggest reason he will fail...even beyond his lack of talent as an NFL QB.
