According to Kool aid man, Drake is a better rapper than 2pac. That's right, the male version of Taylor Swift is a better lyricist than arguably the greatest rapper of all time. They teach poetry classes on Pac btw

Tupac was more influential, and was a better story teller. Drake is an underrated lyricist, but he's not even the best lyricist of today, Let alone all time. I will say Drake is a good song writer, and makes great pop music, but pac has just as many hits, but he also had substance to his music.

Drake is cool, but he's too pop to ever be a top 10 rapper.

This guy happens to be a legend in the making tbh. He was just a comic doing gigs, got into laugh factory, now has his own show on NBC and thousands of women wanting to suck his mushroom tip. Check out his IG page, Chris D'elia.

He's not, he's a bubblegum pop/R&B crossover singer being marketed as a rapper....

Tupac is extremely overrated, but still far better than Drake....

2Pac was a ballerina, tbh, not much different than Drake being on Degrassi..if 2pac was coming up in today's era, his style would be dramatically different, too..

Musically speaking, if you're only comparing him to his contemporaries, Drake is one of the greatest rappers of all-time, tbh..

I still enjoy some of 2Pac's music, but a lot of it hasn't aged well IMO..

Not the biggest expert on the topic, but as has been referenced here, drake isn't even rapping half the time. I had to be informed that he was apparently a rapper

    Top 5 MC's
    1. Andre 3000
    2. NAS
    3. Eminem
    4. Jay-z
    5. PAc/Biggie

Honorable mention: Rakim, KRS, Cube, half the Wu-Tang clan, Q-Tip, and many others ...

As for Drake dude has talent and dude has "lyrics". He started as a rapper (well actor) and he has plenty of mix-tapes that were equal to or superior to Lil Wayne who was considered the best rapper alive at the time. Personally I dont like Drake as a singer or as Young money "punchline rap" era performer. I like good punchlines but that is almost the whole flow very little story-telling. But to say he does not have talent is hating. He also isnt a very good singer either tbh.

Comparing him to his peers, he is, tbh..

He's the most influential and popular rapper of the past 5 years, and he actually does have bars, unlike previous "mainstream dominant" rappers..

Drake is a much, much, much better lyricist than 50 Cent, for example, and s had no problem giving 50 his due..

Drake is also unique, so that's a huge plus on his resume..he's essentially the face of the millennial generation, he's the transition from "gangster" and "street" rap to our current era of toleration of sexuality, etc..

There isn't another rapper from any other generation that would have been performing skits while hosting the ESPYs, making fun of himself, etc..he's the voice of the current urban generation..

    Definitely greatest Gay Rapper
    From ATLiens
Now, my oral demonstration be like clitoral stimulation
to the female gender, ain't nothing better
Let me know when it's wet enough to enter

If not I'll wait, because the future of the world depends on
Therefore, if not the child we raise gon' have that syndrome
Or will it know to be the hard regardless of the skintone
I really feel that if we tune it, it just might get picked on
Or will it give a about what others say and get gone
They alienate us 'cause we different keep your hands to the sky
Like Sounds of Blackness when I practice what a preach ain't no lie
I'll be the baker and the maker of the piece of my pie
Now breaker, breaker 10-4 can I get some reply?

    From Art of Storytelling

Now Suzy Skrew had a partna named Sasha (Sasha), Thumper (Thumper)
I remember her number like the summer
when her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber - - party
but you can not call it that cause it was slummer
Well it was more like spend the night
Three in the morning yawnin dancin under street lights
We chillin like a villain and a feelin right
in the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite
all of the bull we on our back starin at the stars above
(aww man) Talkin bout what we gonna be when we grow up
I said what you wanna be, she said, "Alive" (hmm)
It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes
I coulda died, time went on, I got grown
Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home
to find lil Sasha was gone

Her mamma said she with a that be treatin her wrong
I kept on singin my song and hopin at a show
that I would one day see her standin in the front row
But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school
With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper

From Royal Flush (unlreased track from Big Boi feat Andre 3000)

It's cool when the kids call me Sunny, the hood calls me Stacks
The B's call me honey, Hollywood calls me back
Crack and I have a lot in common
We both come up in the 80's and we keep that bass pumping
    That's a nega-tive comparison, embarrassing
Unfortunate that if you come up fortunate the streets consider you lame
Ha, I thought the name of the game was to have a better life. I guess it ain't. What a shame

I don't slang. Never slung but I'm one with the slum that has a name well fitting
Plenty cheese getting. No wonder why they call it the trap
So watch your tail and I'm not kidding
The rats and mice will give advice, they say, "you can paint and draw
Get out of here. Go show them that we're more than slanging raw."
That's when I broke into my Big Rube impression
And I tried to enlighten but that night I learned a lesson
That the morals that you think you got go out the window
When all the other kids are fresh and they got new Nintendo Wiis
And your child is down on her knees praying hard up to God for a whopper with cheese

Andre is slept on for being weird. But if you take lyrics, message, and even sales has to be considered a top 5 MC. I dont know if he is the best but he is definitely one of your favorite rapper, favorite rappers.
