She was a funny and truly original. RIP
4chan, get to work !!!!
One of my favorite "Joanisms" is passing out in the drivethrough at 2 AM.
She was supposed to be funny?
Did she die getting her face stretched?
Arguably the funniest & ballsiest comedian on American National Television
one of my favorite scenes is when she was ghost hunting and knocked over the candelabra and caught the drapes on fire. the thought of her jumping up and down on the fire with that crazy look still makes me laugh.
I'm confused by cantthinkofanything and OP's weird obsessive bitterness towards her. I've literally never seen her perform in any way but when every comic in the business praises someone, and I mean even before today, I tend to believe they're probably pretty damn good
She was a wit, and very innovative for her time.
She wasn't one of my favorites, but she was still funny.
We have some really sick and demented trolls on here who were never taught a shred of respect for their elders by their demented sick parents unfortunately.
Some on here, SBM has listed them a few times already in a couple of threads, give one a great justification to back abortions.![]()

Her schtick was that she never showed any respect towards anyone or anything. What goes around...
I still have a hard time believing she was considered a comedian![]()
She did stand up off and on for about 50 years.
That's a funny statement considering every comic out there is singing their praises all over social media today. But look out for those message board posters!!!
Well on a message board such as this, where the age span covers about 50 years, there are going to be a lot of people that just don't know her enough to give a , or will judge her from when they've been aware of her, only for the last 5 or 10 years. Just like there's always the "music these days sucks" and "black and white movies suck" crowds. Doesn't mean anything really except that there is no appreciation for anything that isn't relative to their current lives. That's fine, we all do it to a certain extent.
I was never a big fan but I can appreciate her contributions to stand up comedy and especially the trails she blazed for women in show business. RIP
Bravo for you, well said IMHO.
I'm 25. I'm one of those people who doesn't know about her. But I'll put my belief in people like Jim Norton, Opie and Anthony, Sherrod Small, Ron White, Robert Kelly, Jesse Joyce, and I'm sure a bunch of bigger names that I don't follow
We're coming from different angles here. I was just saying they're lame as cause they're either completely ignorant or bitter towards her cause she said some super honest stuff
women by nature aren't that funny, similar to children. but Rivers was actually funny and had bigger balls than most in the business. Rest in Peace.
What's really funny is message board posters getting all sensitive about Joan Rivers death. She made a living making fun of other peoples deaths, including her own husbands suicide. If she could speak from the grave, she make raunchy jokes about how she died.
