Keenum and all of his Coog fan boys are gone. That's worth it even if Mallett winds up never playing a down.

Does Mallet have any upside at all? He can't be worse than Fitzmagic.

Mallet is terrible. About as chimp brain as you can get for a QB.

He was overrated in college. Fact is, Arkansas became much better once Tyler Wilson became the QB and he couldn't last in this league.

Mallet always has sucked in the preseason and I'm not convinced he will be a better backup than Keenum. He's certainly not better than Fitzpatrick.

    Question for the Texans guru's:
Rams just claimed Keenum on waivers to likely be the #2 or #3 QB. Can this kid be developed? He looked pretty good early last season despite the 14 gm avalanche of losing.

Obviously the Texans like Mallet > Keenum, but give me the straight word on this kid.

Keenum has a little bit of play making ability on the run but you put him in the pocket and he has two glaring, damning deficiencies...he can feel the pass rush coming and he can't read a defense. He's the prototypical spread QB that never really learned how to play the position correctly in college.

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. Sounds like there's some upside with good coaching and patience.

he definitely has a gunslinger mentality. u'll never be mad that he's too passive, though of course that's not always a good thing

A pocket passer he's not, but to be fair the Texan's OLine is . If Fischer can get him out of the pocket or at the very least buying some time, he can make plays down field.

Most overall and guaranteed money for a defensive player in NFL history.

Guess they're cutting Clowney now, since they obviously can't afford to pay both...

Just went through and read it again. Thought this post was worth a bump:

    facepalm

Once again...talking to you about anything is impossible. All you do is change the you say in mid debate. Every ing time.

None of this matters. Houston will draft Clowney and you will follow ball to whatever team drafts him and watch him fail on that team spectacularly. I guess the only good in all of this is it will be fun bumping all of these threads a few seasons from now.

O'Brien put in work with Matt Mcgloin. I think him and Teddy would work out more than him and Manziel. Plus I want Clowney no where near the team. And the Texans must take a QB.

ok now release schaub so we can get our stopgap pls
Not yet, we must rob you s of a draft pick
i dont think we're ever gna trade a pick for a stopgap after the Flynn disaster. reggie would rather sign Freeman than deal for Schaub

That whole front 7 is beasting right now tbh. Crennel's system even gave Brooks Reed new life. Watt isn't even human right now.

He's a soft pussy. What is this like his third boo boo already?

Funny since Texans fans mentioned Football's supposed inability to stay healthy as a reason why he wasn't worth it.
