Yeah, I'm a big defender of Romo, but yesterday was just bad. His accuracy was off big time. I don't know if it's his back, his not practicing regularly, or just one of those games.
he always kinda sidearms it, but that one he threw at Bryant into triple coverage was probably the dumbest throw I have ever seen.

how about the one in the red zone, they in drive down there and instead of hitting cole beasley who had a step on his man he throws into traffic to nobody in particular

It's just one game and the Niners are very good ... but those picks ...smh.

I Predicted 6 wins but that may have been optimistic.

Probably true but no excuses. he needs to be better. And our coaches need to do better as well. Even if you take away the picks and Murray fumble the penalties are inexcusable. Especially by Witten and Tyron Smith. Tyron was putrid after signing a big contract as well. I am sorry but Jerry, Stephen and JG need to be held accountable when talented players under-achieve.
No accountability in this organization ...PERIOD.

Tennessee will be tough so will Rams but they need to win BOTH road games to make up for such a ty performance.

Oh and double teams are a weak-sauce excuse on why Dez could not get open. Calvin Johnson, AJ Green all get doubled.

    LkrFan having an epic meltdown
Npe - we got Romo'd. He put up 30+/10 & 3,800 yards last year. He won't play that bad again this year (I hpe)

    Positives:

    Ro McClain thumping them 9ers
D technically gave up 21 points
    D pitched a 2nd half shutout
    D gave up 215 yards 1st half; 104 yards in 2nd
    Murray had 22 - 118 yards - 1st 100+ v. SF in 17 games
Dallas OL hammered 9ers DL (see above)

    Negatives

    Romo - 'nuff said
    Secondary - ^
    Jason Garrett - ^^
    Jerry Jones - ^^^

Ditto. Diff this year? We can run the ball and take pressure off Romo. But will we? 22 carries has to be a career high for Murray. Gotta hold onto the damn ball though. SMH

Everyone had to know what kind of day it was gonna be once Murray fumbled and it was returned for a TD. When it rains it pours with this team. There is no in between.

If you'd told Cowboys fans that the defense was only going to give up 14 points, they'd have been really happy.

Play action on obvious running plays, where you can see from the replay that the back would have gotten easy yardage, only for Romo to throw into triple coverage. I'd wish for him to take a big hit, but the guy backing him up is even worse and JG will still let him throw the ball 40 times a game. It's interesting when your two favorite teams are the Spurs and the Cowboys, one of the smartest and one of the stupidest teams in sports, respectively.

Jason Garrett said that they're committed to running the ball this season. Someone should tell him that doing it between the 20 yard lines isn't commitment, it's just stat-padding.

They moved their coaches and play-calling around during the offseason to emphasize getting the play in to the QB faster. Romo still ran the clock down to 2 seconds or less the whole game.

I loved when the Cowboys were down inside the 5, and Romo called timeout. He probably asked what the that personnel package was on the field. It's the I formation, Tony. That extra guy behind you is a fullback, and no, you don't throw to him.

Agreed. He won't play like that again this year.

I do like the balanced offensive playcalling Linehan promised. He gotta strip Romo of his ability to audible out of run plays. That 1st and goal play that he threw a pick still chaps my ass.

Murray was avg 5+ ypc. They should have punched that in. Instead he tried to be cute. INT to Willis. In the endzone of all places. SMH

Thanks for pointing this out. It seems that with all the TOs, the fact that our D didn't play that bad against a very good team is overlooked

I wish I were that confident that he won't play like this again. I'm way past defending him for the stupid decisions he makes with the ball. These aren't interceptions off a tip, they're throws into double and triple and quadruple coverage on first and second down.

I erased the game from the DVR too quickly so I can't go back and look, but I think all three of his picks were on play action fakes during rushing downs. Again, that's not commitment to the run, that's using the run when it's easy to try to make your fakes more convincing, but the Niners didn't look to be fooled for a second, as they never looked like they were expecting a running play.

Dez Bryant is out of the game and you still try a back-shoulder throw in the red zone?

Yeah, it's pathetic. Romo can't see the play unfold using the majority of the field, yet you want him to squeeze in a pass into a pass expecting defense with only 15 yards to work with..SMH.

I hope to god Romo has a repeat performance in Tennessee..as some of the others have said, I have typically stood by Romo, but the line has been drawn. I want him to take his fantasy football dream stats and shove em' up his ass with a disgraced exit from Dallas.

They'll end up paying him for the next 3 years just like the other 20 players from the late 2000's Dallas is still paying..

No argument here. Romo played horribly. I gotta think that he won't repeat that performance - unless he is not as healthy as the Cowboys are leading us to believe. I'll reserve judgment until I see him this Sunday. 2 bad games in a row? Things will go downhill from there given their schedule: With the 1st pick of the 2015 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Jameis Winston, QB, FSU.

I don't see how his health plays a factor in his performance. He was moving around just fine out there, maybe he's not in mid season form, but I don't see how his back will cause him to see Dez in triple coverage as a better option than Williams on the single covered deep route.

If I was Dez and he injured my back on that play, I'm giving his ass a black eye when we get to the locker room.

It's hard enough being an FSU fan with that mother er as the QB. If the Cowboys pick him, I'm probably going to switch teams.

It seemed that a bunch of Romo's passes on Sunday were lofted and lacked the zip of his past years. I noticed he was not setting his feet before these throws. I hope he really can make all the throws, because these lobs will never make it to the receivers before the "windows" close. Since I saw very little of training camp, I wonder if his mechanics are back yet.

Bryan: I believe the observation that you had of his game against the 49ers is the correct one. The best example of that to me was the third down throw across the middle to Cole Beasley late in the game. It’s a throw that Romo has made a hundred times, but in this case his left foot was wide open, as were his hips. His momentum was all going to the left trying to make a throw that required him to be square to the target. He tried to throw the ball by flipping it and it was way too high. What was strange about his game is that if you look at the early throws to Williams and Bryant on the slants he was right where he needed to be.

David: Jerry Jones talked about this a bit on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. He pointed out that Romo’s longest gain of the day, a 57-yarder to Dwayne Harris, came on a “duck” of a throw. This raises some pretty obvious questions about whether Romo is rusty after a limited preseason, or if he is still feeling the effects of his back injury. I saw him make enough good, accurate throws during training camp that I’m willing to chalk it up to rust. But it’s something to keep an eye on.
