Yeah why would you want a clutch shooting guard off the bench with decent athleticism who would become the 4th best wing immediately.

Yeah why would they want that.

Dude.. Chill. Does it not bother you that you are a major asshole in the majority of your posts? Mostly unwarranted as well. Jesus. What a negative at ude. There's no need to be so sarcastic or cynical just because you think you know more than someone else.

Yeah, why wouldn't the team want a 39-year-old sixth wing who can't defend and shouldn't be on the floor over any of the other wings in crunch time?

Yeah, why wouldn't they want that?

More I think about it if the Spurs can get Ray Allen away from LeBron's arms, this could be a move to fire the team up to repeat. Here's why, having him on the team will remind them they still have unfinished business still, get that 2013 championship back to San Antonio. 2014 was a sweet redemption championship for the Spurs, and having Ray Allen on the team means he can't beat you in the Finals again and can only help motivate the team to win it all again. I worry about motivation for them in the 2014-2015 season. Also Ray instead of retiring will be on a deep team and he can get more rest. With the Cavs they will play him like crazy, with the Spurs he will be used but also be able to rest. He also can remind the guys they still have to win another one in the locker room and fire them up. brilliant move if it happens and he will be on a team with similar veteran players, in other words he fits in perfectly. So sign him to fire this team up, I have a feeling they might be to satisfied since that 2014 NBA le was so sweet. I still think he will be a Cav though.

Can't defend? You're insane. He's already better than Belinelli. Better than Joseph. Allen would be fantastic off the bench.
Just because he's not Bruce Bowen doesn't mean he's not a decent defender.

He's a better defender than Cory Joseph? WTF? If healthy and 100%, I might say he's a better defender than Marco, but not Cory. Not at this stage of his career anyway.

Must have completely missed the Finals if you think Allen can defend. It's not just age with him. He's returned to his old form of not trying on that end.

Wouldn't hurt to add a player that can go 4-5 from 3 at any given point in a series.

I don't hate Allen but our roster doesn't really allow for this signing. Are we really going to carry Parker, CoJo, Mills, Danny, Manu, Marco, AND Ray? I'm just not seeing it.

Although we could have a video game like three point lineup with patty, Allen, green, Diaw/bonner

If you want Ray Allen, you'd need a time machine to meet that criteria. His three pointer is his only asset, and that's been slipping the last 3 years.

Nothing Ray Allen can do that Danny Green can't. Also younger and more athletic.

It's easy to write a guy off as done, but if he can be had for the vet minimum, it's worth it.

Ray Allen is not coming here for the minimum. We are both late to the game, and he and his agent know we still have the MLE.

lol, I didn't even want to comment on the suggestion that he'd accept the minimum. The only way the Spurs would have a chance is with the MLE, or if they get lucky, a little less than the full MLE.

Everyone knows the Spurs have the MLE left. If the Spurs were stupid enough to offer him the minimum, his response would probably be "I can play with Lebron any day of the week for the minimum" then hang up the phone.

The ? Of course the Spurs would only offer the minimum. They don't need Allen at all, so if he wants to go play in Cleveland, the Spurs certainly wouldn't be desperate to stop him. No way he gets anything near the full MLE, or even the full LLE.

The bottom line is that Allen isn't still on the market because so many teams are fighting over him. He's on the market because no one really values him. Everyone else has already used MLEs, mMLEs, LLEs and rMLEs on other players.

The ? Why would he come here for the minimum? Last I read was that he said he's deciding whether or not he wants to play and that he hasn't made a decision on that yet. How do you know teams haven't asked about him?

If he's going to play for the minimum, he'll likely play for the Cavs, or are you saying that the Cavs don't even want him for the minimum? No way he chooses the Spurs for the minimum. If he decides to play and they really want him, they're going to have to offer more than the minimum.

Why wouldn't he choose the Spurs? They are the best team in the league. No other team comes close. It makes no sense to bend over backward for him.
