I don't know about guns, but I went hunting for the first time last weekend (it was a three day bachelor party down in falfurrias). First, I didn't hit with the shotgun (way hungover though) but later on I was deadly with the pistols (those cans never knew what was coming). That being said, holy there were a lot of guns there. I had a blast though.

Really nice CC! Can you update after you use it on how you like it, accuracy etc. My next gun was going to be a Henry Big Boy but I might have just changed my mind.

.308 isn't a super magnum but has been a standard on 1000 yard setups for many years. Muzzle velocity is about 2800 FPS. Basically you zero at your preferred range and then use your known "clicks" on the tactical scope to adjust for increased range...example zero at 200 and then go "x" clicks up to be on at 800 yards using the mil dots to estimate range to target.
