Durant will be ringless like Malone also.
Kevin Durant has grown close with Karl Malone -- more -->
"I’ve gotten close with Karl Malone, who’s called me numerous times when he can see on TV that I’m struggling, feeling bad after a loss. He can tell."
What a .
Beta recognizes beta
It explains why he picked Texas U
Shut the up canadian. You got some nerve. Longhorns till the casket drops.
At least Venti got it
Texas - little mexicans - get it?
Oh....![]()
Betas usually go to Texas A&M, tbh....
"Struggling, feeling bad after a loss."
This er really is a weak pussy.
Malone is a not a beta imho. I see this as another reason why we should respect rather than despise him, just like when he said he would like to drink Goddess's bathwater tbh.
I don't really get the hate Durant has around here.
He gets. Lot of calls; so did Jordan, so does Lebron, so does Kobe. What's the big deal about it. He plays it to his advantage. If anything, he should be applauded for taking advantage of the rules.
He's got alpha talent and a perception of beta personality. Lebron went beta multiple times in his career when he was the clear alpha, and it's all these Lebron ass kissers who are the biggest Durant haters. The same people also derides Kobe for going alpha when he was really just a beta. So what do you actually want?
Agree...but he is not them.
Quality, Lefty ...
Not sure why he is hated on so much though ...
On this we agree. Durant is the only current player who is in striking distance of taking the best player on the planet belt away from Lebron. To me, it's his "Fans" that are the most butthurt by it. Similar to the way Kobe fans hated on Lebron before James took over the league.
As you pointed out metrics do show Durant had a better season ...so the ones that used those to procliam James greatness shouldnt have issue with Durant supporters or advanced metrics fans like yourself doing the same.
If you watch the games, outside of shooting, it's hard for me to make a case for KD over Lebron even last year ... but it's closer than most are willing to admit. I Also think he gets some guilt by association with Russ, who is hated on here even more vehemently he is just not as big a star.
But solid work. Since the Kobe debate is over I applaud you taking on this one ...you will get some serious backlash on this one brace yourself ...
LeBron is beta too
You have issues.
I agree, he shouldnt be applauded but you do have to give credit to him for smartly taking advantage of the situation to increase his efficiency. dude is a product of the metrics era and it's no surprise why Amb supports his cause. I just love his ball skills.
Besides I also was a skinny hooper (back in the day) so I stick up for guys like KD, Rip and Reggie.
No kidding man, I got a whole bunch of replies for what I wrote. Shocked it happened.
I don't think Durant > Lebron. He had a better season than Lebron did last year, but lots of it had to do with Durant exerting himself for the ring in the ultra-tough WC, and Lebron coasting in the marshmellow EC waiting for the finals to come.
No question Lebron is the greatest right now, and really has been for a long long time. I don't really see anyone overtaking Lebron anytime soon, and I have a feeling Durant will never be able to do that. If anything, Unibrow has a better chance of over taking Lebron once Lebron gets old.
Durant and Lebron is like Nadal and Federer, both are great players, but Nadal would have been a lot greater without Federer in his way most of their careers.
As for Westbrook, I don't have much of a problem with him. He ballhogs, makes poor decisions, but is also wildly entertaining to watch. He helps the Thunder as much as he hurts them, and I have no problems with it.
Why not? The objective of the game is to win within the rules. The rules now say you get two FTs for shooting a 20 foot fadeaway jump shot, take it so you can pad points while get your man in foul trouble. Durant doesn't really flop too much, he just gets the calls.
Oh like I said I give him credit ..but applause? Do we applause fisher, Vlade and Manu for flopping? They were taking advantage as well. I give them credit for being good at getting offensive fouls but would not applaud it. Kobe and Especially Magic are two of my favorite players but I do not applaud their "verbal flops". MJ and Lebron do that as well ...is it smart? Yes. But in real life you would despise playing with dudes that did that ...
Flopping is different though, it's a way of cheating to go around the rules. Durant didn't flop, he just got calls.
I think the rip through move he does could be considered cheating to draw a foul ... Personally I am not mad at either move just saying I dont applaud it. If you are hooping and someone did that and called a foul on you wouldnt that (the Durant move) be considered "cheap"?
It's not cheating if it's clearly in the rules. Yes, it would be extremely annoying if I have to play against those guys, but if it's within the rules, then I'll be damned.
If anything, blame the league. I almost wish the entire league is playing like that so that the game becomes a game of FTs and every body fouls out 8 minutes in the game, forcing the league to rewrite those dumb ass rules.
He's a jumpshooter. Westbrook gets tons of calls as well but it doesnt bother me anywhere near as bad bc he actually attacks the rim pretty relentlessly. The Kawhi tweet was typical behavior...as an MVP and face of the league (along with Bron) you don't say something like that about an up and coming player--especially one that plays the same position as you. Fake in general, etc.
He's a great player and all just not very likable tbh.
But flopping only became clearly defined ...recently. Before that Vlade, fish etc were clearly within the rules. Also IIRC, didnt they change the rules to limit the fouls on the defense on KD's rip through move a season or so ago? Point is before that it was within rules but still annoying.
If you look at the flops someone posted of Lebron in the other thread he is clearly breaking the rule's by your criteria. My point is just because someone does something within the rules doesnt make it any less annoying or "cheap". I like Durant and just like Lebron with the flops they are both so good they should not need to resort to cheap tactics ...
