you can't assume that the SAT is an IQ test, so you can't just scale them proportionally and act like you have a winning formula
The pre-1994 SAT, which Bush took, correlates with traditional IQ Tests. Even Mensa allows people to obtain membership based on their pre-1994 SAT scores.

Mensa supposedly accepts over 200 standardized tests, i hardly think they would all be considered to be IQ tests.

tbh I really don't know what to make of IQ. I had a professor whose IQ is in the 230s and he is an unparalleled genius who has published all kinds of incredible breakthroughs in math, but Richard Feynman, who is right there with Weinberg as perhaps the greatest American physicist to ever live, had a pedestrian 125 IQ.

If Mensa can't convince you of what cons utes an IQ Test, I don't know what will.

As for your question, you get to brag that you're smarter than 98% of the world population. I'm not too familiar with the US Mensa, but from what I've heard, they have scholarships, conferences and gatherings, grants, members-only bank accounts, and a whole range of other benefits.

I think it is safe to say that Obama and Bush will go down as one of the worst 16 year period in presidential history. No need to worry about which one is worse. They both suck.
It is ongoing. Until someone competent steps in, maybe this is how USA will be until the inevitable collapse.

Bush's SAT score, which is 1206, has been published in The New York Times. That falls in the 84th percentile. From there, it's just a matter of converting to IQ by determining what IQ score falls in the top 16% of the world population. It isn't rocket science.
Just so you know Bill Clinton had an SAT score of 1032.

It's been studied...good enough is good enough, after that other personality traits become much more important than iq.

LOL at IQ scores and SAT scores as if this is any indication of ones ability to govern as president. The success of a president has more to do with the judging individual's perspective than it does with actual accomplishment.

It's true. Bush wasn't a terrible president because of his perceived IQ. He was a terrible president because he made really terrible decisions supported by or under the influence of other terrible (but probably measurably intelligent) people.

mensa isn't a scientific community. i'm sure they have some smart cookies, but i dont consider that society to be an authority in measurement of cognitive ability

I heard that the official Mensa position on the Apollo moon missions is that they were real. If that's true, they can't be trusted.

Oh wow. That's even lower than Kobe's 1080 (which is considered above average for an NBA player).

Just for the record, Matt Bonner scored 1350 in his SAT's, which would put him in the top 2% of the world population, and qualify him for admission into Mensa.
