The Spurs won four championships before last season. And each time, they failed to repeat.
As such, it took only three questions into Gregg Popovich’s availability during media day on Friday before the subject was broached: Why haven’t the Spurs been able to defend their le, and can they finally do so this year?
His response was predictable.
“Why haven’t we repeated? Because we haven’t,” he said. ”If we do it would be great. If we don’t life will go on and everything’s cool.”

No problem. Just wanted to make sure nobody gets into trouble.
Pop needs to quit downplaying the importance of repeating. The best players and teams have done it and it's time the spurs focus on making that their mission
