Klay Thompson deserves one of the SG spots.
IMO..
PG.
Paul, Westbrook, Curry, Parker, Goran/Lowry
SG.
Harden, Wade, Ellis, Manu, Derozan/Johnson ( tiest position in the league right now)
SF.
Lebron, KD, Carmelo, Kawhi, Batum ( Not sure about Geroge's injury)
PF
Blake, Love, Aldridge, Davis, Nowitzki/Duncan/Jeferson
C
Howard, Noah, Gasol, Cousins, Pekovic
Klay Thompson deserves one of the SG spots.
i dont feel like putting them in order, that takes up more thought than i'm willing to put, so i'll just throw in a top 5
PG: Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Stephen Curry, Goran Dragic
SG: James Harden, Monta Ellis, Joe Johnson, Lance Stephenson, Dwyane Wade
SF: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard. i think George will come back fine. if we aren't including him because he's out for the season, i'll throw in Nicolas Batum
PF: Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh
C: Dwight Howard, Joakin Noah, Marc Gasol, DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond (expecting him to be huge this season)
Harden, Thompson, ???
Manu was great in the Finals in a couple games, but let's be honest... dude isn't top 5 SG in the league. He's got some attributes that no one else has, but he comes off the bench in limited minutes. You cannot put him up with high minute starters on playoff teams.
PG: Paul, Westbrook, Curry, Parker, Conley
SG: Harden, Ellis, Stephenson, Ginobili, Beal
SF: James, Durant, Leonard, Batum, Anthony
PF: Griffin, Davis, Aldridge, Duncan, Pau Gasol
C: Noah, Bosh, Marc Gasol, Howard, Jefferson
Duncan hasn't been a PF for at least 6 years.
In no order:
PG: CP3, Westbrook, Tony, Curry, Wall/Dragic
SG: Wade, Ellis, Derozan, Harden, Joe Johnson
SF: Lebron, Durant, Melo, George, Kawhi (Batum getting too much love)
PF: Blake, Lamarcus, Love, Dirk, Anthony Davis
C: Timmy, Damarcus, Dwight, Joakim, Marc / Bosh
splitter sure as isn't a forward, and duncan's offensive game has moved out from the low post
Yes they are better than Manu right now, he is older and still a good bench player but that is where it ends. He is about a 13ppg guy now, still very good but not a top 5 SG in the league lets be real now, this is not 09.This is dead on.
Wow, no love for Klay Thompson in this thread. Dude is a beast, 3 point threat, and very good defender, which is rare at the 2.
Klay Thompson is overrated. Even the Warriors thought so.
Splitter he is not a PF so...
I'll try it as well...in no particular order:
PG: Paul, Westbrook, Parker, Curry, Dragic ...hm: Wall
SG: Harden, Wade, Thompson, Beal, Ellis ...hm: Stephenson
SF: Lebron, Durant, Melo, George, Leonard ...hm: Batum
PF: Griffin, Aldridge, Love, Nowitzki, Davis ...hm: Bosh
C: Duncan, Howard, Noah, M.Gasol, Cousins ...hm: Jefferson
And yet he led the position in Real Plus Minus (RPM) last season... despite limited minutes...
This may have something to do with him playing against opposing bench guys (and with one of the best bench mops around himself).
That said, Manu still is one of the best SG's in the game (I probably would take him over any other SG if it's a "5 minutes left in the game, score tied" scenario), but when speaking about the top5-SGs overall, beeing able to play 40 minutes/game compared to <30minutes has to mean something.
That's a fair statement... I'm just saying that Manu's impact goes beyond the points per game (PPG) or minutes (MPG) categories... He is one of the Spurs' primary creators... His arsenal is about as complete as one can have (despite the age) and last but not least he plays both sides of the ball (same cannot be said for many of the league's SGs)...
PG: Westbrook, Paul, Curry, Parker, Wall
SG: Harden, Wade, Derozan, Johnson, Beal
SF: James, Durant, Anthony, George, Leonard
PF: Griffin, Davis, Aldridge, Nowitzki, Love
C: Howard, Cousins, Duncan, Gasol, Jefferson
In dat SG, you have to get Green
and it's not even a homer statement unless you just consider offense
he is one of the best perimeter defender of the league... who is better at his position today ?
Thats what I thought when asking myself about the 5minutes scenario.
Paul (-2), Curry (+1/-1), Westbrook (+2/-1), Parker (+1/-1), Wall (+1/-2)
Dragic (-2), Harden (+1/-2), Thompson (+2/-1), Bryant (+2/-1), Derozan (-1)
James (x), Durant (x), Anthony (-1), George (+1/-?), Deng (+1/-1)
Griffin (x), Aldridge (-1), Love (+1/-1), Bosh (+1/-1), Nowitzki (-?)
Cousins (-1), Howard (+1/-1), Drummond (+1/-1), Noah (-1), Duncan (-2)
You rarely play the two together anyway. Duncan's playing a lot more with Diaw.
well
Splitter played 1271 min last season, among which 674 minutes were with Tim on the floor so more than half. Duncan played 960 min with Boris but Tiago played much less game 59 vs 74.
look at last year duncan played in RS 820 mn with Tiago (he played 81 games) and 684 mn with Boris
so... ya Duncan played significantly PF
Remember when you guys wanted to lynch Splits like Silver lynched Sterling? Sweet Jesus, you called him everything but, a pseudo white man. It was awful. Only your old dad, Dale backed him, saved his life, then the little critter bit me. On second thought Geico Insurance is better. No seriously, I was right about Splits. You guys was wrong.
