Whom would you take on a le contender?
On one hand you have an injury prone locker room cancer who's probably still good enough for 18 a game on horrendous percentages, on the other hand you have the best 3pt shooter in the league, good enough for about 12 points off the bench.
Kyle Korver and its not even a debate. Obviously Kobe's a guy whose a legend and will have statues made of him outside of Staples and rightfully so. But he did not age well, by that I mean, unlike McGrady he cant be a guy who comes off the bench for a contender and do the small things. Kobe is forever stuck as being the center piece of a championship team in his own mind, if he came to SA right now he would destroy that team. In his prime, he would take that team to a 3peat along with Duncan.
I recall talking to my friend whose a HS bball coach, we said in 2012 if Lakers get Dwight+a star pg then Kobe has to learn how to be a 3rd option and they are contenders. We were both very let down to see how Kobe immediately got back into his zone of shooting all the time and taking everyone out of the game. In his prime, it was worth the headache, hes just not worth it anymore.
^ truth bomb, Kobe just never learns to adjust the sleeves to the length of his arms. He's no longer the player he was but he never wanna admit the truth, which comes with big cost against his team's interest.
I'll just bet it ain't.
smart move. that bet's a sure winner
I'll just bet it is.
doubling down? even smarter
21, gettin' his obtuse on.
Duncan's got 5 and the tiebreaker. There's no changing that.
Kobe: 5
the tired old bag Duncan: 5

On a team like the Cavs, I'd take Kobe. Lebron is the type of player that can willingly adjust his role to make room for Kobe's ball dominance. Spurs, give me Korver. Kobe's antics won't fly with Popovich.
LeBrons not gonna screw up a Cavs le chance on the Chucking Cancer.
I know we are talking hypothetically, but no way he lets dumb hog the ball.
Lebron's a nice hombre. He's one of the few players in the history of the game that is truly unselfish. He displayed this in Miami, that much was clear. Lebron doesn't need to score much to be effective. He had too many games where fans were actually criticizing him for not shooting much
One of the few who could go 10-14 on the floor and still dominate. He's that great.
You ing stupid infidel how dare you insult God. I'm starting to believe that you were never a Laker fan since you talk a lot of trash about God. Your knowledge of the game of basketball is terrible to believe that a white scrub in Korver who can't jump over a stack of papers is better than God. Also the Lakers were contenders in 2012 had God not gotten injured they would have gone all the way to win it all.
This. If Kobe was willing to take a step back like Duncan did he'd still be contending for championships as a '#2'. As it is, he'll probably never make the playoffs again.
Today I'd take Korver, but if Kobe got over himself I'd take him in a second.
Kobe kept all 5 of his. Duncan is light 1 because he let a white woman get the drop on him first-&-second let a little squirt of a semi retired black man make him pound hardwood.
