RC speaks truth. That's all marketing giving yourself an "atta boy". sure it may sound nice to say Lakers won 9 straight Pacific division les in the 80's but who cares? RC, is the 2nd best coach in the biz and I love his mind-set. He wasn't taking kudos for pushing the Spurs to 7 last year ...he wants to win that seventh game.

It doesn't matter what RC says. It's about marketing, nothing else. It's a ing kids game with 7 foot Negroes running up and down a hardwood floor dribbling a basketball. It's entertainment, so it's about making money. The NBA Championship has no more meaning than a child's soccer trophy, maybe not even as much, outside of money. Rick is cashing a check on one hand, pretending to be more interested in winning with the other.

Agree, pretending to care about winning the championship (equivalent to a child's soccer trophy) is just one of their marketing methods. NBA players and coaches need to make it up as if they cared about winning, which in Bourdieu's theory is called illusio, so the fans would be convinced they s were doing something meaningful and would like to pay to watch them play, tbh.
