This sort of occurrence exposes the drastic differences in the two races. She wouldn't sleep with a White male because it is too similar to her sons. So when she begins engaging in illegal and career ending behavior, she goes all the way with a "sub-human" to fufil her fantasies of shame & being degraded. There is also no fear of this turning into something more because she would not want to be seen publicly with a "sub-human".
