Sorry to hear, I'm a dog person who has come to like cats. Dog just turned 11, cat is 1. Gf and daughter talked me into it, but he's clearly my cat after the first year.
i had one cat who was badass but in general they suck. lil would open the door by himself. german shepherds 4tw.

Cats are underrated. Not as good as dogs in general but some of them can be cool.

^ agree, cats are probably the smartest household animal tbh. Dogs are man's best friend but they can be offensive and very noisy sometimes.

Sorry about your cat. I have a couple of cats, but I'm not a cat person either. I was attacked and severely clawed by my friend's cat when I was a real little kid so I pretty much grew up scared of them. But a few years ago my daughter rescued a newborn kitten from the jaws of a fox, nursed to health and it stayed a pet for several years, we grew to love her. Then a couple of years back there was a huge storm and these 2 little kittens were hiding and freezing in our shrubs, so of course in they came and never left. You get used to them, you grow on each other and they are okay. I'd never go out looking to own a cat and I'd certainly never pay money for one
RIP. Not a cat person but I know how much it sucks losing a pet.
