Unless Patty's injury lingers, no.
Warriors get: Danny Green, Patty Mills
Spurs get: Klay Thompson
Unless Patty's injury lingers, no.
No. Just as bad as your Green/Diaw for Shumpert deal last year.
I think Klay is one of the best SGs in the game, but why would we want to mess with our team chemistry? Stupid trade, especially given that Cojo has yet to prove himself.
A slight upgrade at SG to lose a great backup PG? You trippin'?
OP has one of the worst basketball minds in ST..
Reminds me of his stupid Shumpert for Diaw deal last year..
I wouldn't even trade Green straight up with Klay
The only universe in which this is a remotely good idea is one in which:
a) Thompson agrees to an at- or below-market extension
b) Mills is more injured than we thought
c) Green gives heavy hints that he is leaving as a free agent in the offseason and doesn't want to come back to SA
Depth is our strength ... trading two good players for one potential great player ... no thanks (especially because I think Klay is a bit overrated on defense ... Green is better in that department)
LOL, Spurs would take that deal in a second. Golden State would never take that deal.
Shut up got, you weren't even around then.
Trying hard
And I think it's not a bad trade especially considering we have no clue how Patty will look.

@ the bold
Klay expiring contract is 3mil... Green and Mills= 7.5 mil.
If the Spurs could resign Thompson for 4 yr=30 mil after the trade i would accept it... Otherwise is not worth
Ask the Miami Heat about Patty Mills.....
I'd do it tbh.
Green is a system talent, Klay would be an improvement especially if the system helps him out too. Patty isn't good enough to be a dealbreaker. There's plenty of 6 foot guys that shoot the 3 and play decent D, you just have to look for them. The trouble starts when you try to find guys taller than that...
Or you could ask the Dallas Mavericks...
4 years and $30 mil??? He's about to get at least $15 mil per year if not more....I would not throw away pretty much all of our future cap space for klay.
At the 7:45 mark.
Nuff said
I know. Thats why i said the only way would be worth is if the Spurs signed him for 4yr/30mil...
I don't think a SG that can't create his own shot is worth that much...
Spurs wouldn't even think about it. No way SA gives up both the best PG defender in the league and a backup PG that finally fits perfectly with Ginobili for a two-guard who's only path for growth would come at the expense of touches for Leonard and who's a sizable step down in terms of all-around defense.
Klay Thompson, for all the HYPE, is in reality just a glorified 3 and D guy.
