Interesting indeed. What did he finish with?

Nice! Kawhi injury blessing in disguise?
The kid can ball. I can see the work Chip has done, even just between SL and the preseason. His release is MUCH more vertical, less ing back. It's the same thing Chip did with Kawhi. If Kyle has a legit dangerous 3 point jumper, it opens up the rest of his game. He has a good ball fake, and they have to honor it, allowing him to penetrate and dish, kick, or score.
I thought Kawhi might be back for the opener, but I just read this and it doesn't sound too good at all.

“It persists,” Popovich said in the hours before Wednesday’s exhibition game against Atlanta. “His eyes are still red; one is half-closed. It looks ugly.”
Not sure if Splitter will be back either for the opener as it mentions he's out indefinitely to start the season.
and Tiago (Splitter, who is out indefinitely with a calf strain) to start the season.
looks like we are going to get our asses kicked by Dallas on opening night then ...
yeah pretty much. thats basically Marco's offensive game right now. If Anderson can get to that point in his rookie season, it would be incredible
Well that's just too bad, the Spurs could have signed Korver if it weren't for his wife.
Now we are stuck with Ayres and Belinelli instead.
That's the problem with Cojo, when he handles the ball the offense goes stagnant. He's can penetrate, has a decent jump shot but has absolutely no play making skills.
I agree, KA will do a much better jobs at running the offense. In fact, KA can only play well if he has good players around him. Stick him with a mediocre group and he also becomes mediocre.
And stuck with another championship
Don't agree with this. His team at UCLA wasn't full of talent. He still stood out and was able to be the playmaker he is. In fact, there was talk of him actually being a lottery pick. The kid makes other players better.
Some thoughts:
It really feels like KA caught Pop and the Coaching Staff's eye in the last few games. I think it could be a CIA Pop move to extend Kawhi's recovery time, once he saw something he could work with in KA. You can keep Kawhi fresh by getting KA mins at the 3 spot and using Kawhi's time to develop him more. Love the injury development Spurs do, by the time a player comes back, his diamond in the rough backup is now polished.
Am I foolish to be slightly optimistic on Austin Daye? I love the usage at the 4 spot lately, and if he can just sit back as Bonner 2.0 with all that top 15 pick athleticism, that's an upgrade. Don't dress Ayres and bring KA and Daye off the end of the bench IMO if those two keep it up. Daye isn't really even doing that much either, just seems a little smoother in the flow of the offense.
For everyone worried about Manu's TOs and Missed FGs, team TOs in general, foul rates, especially of the bigs, and general poor chemistry:
Cmon, it's pre-season! Plus, I think Manu is mad about the national team thing, and is passive aggressively returning rusty and lackluster to stick it to the FO. "See, if you let me play for ARG, I'd be less rusty right now.. Like Boris..."
Spurs looked rusty as and disinterested at points last year, too. If you thought they dragged their feet last season, just wait till this year. Don't expect much D and hustle consistency throughout the reg season. Just like last year, you'll see just enough of the flashes to know. They are going to lay low and try to stay healthy and peak at the right time, and will do just enough to protect seeding interests otherwise. But with over 90% of the corporate knowledge returning, we know it can flick on like a switch, barring health.
Remember all those DNPs that developed the likes of Green and Mills and conditioned Diaw? You'll take a DNP in Feb. from the big 3 if it gets a more polished/usable KA in May.
And drop a 2014 Champions banner - I think I'll be content![]()
I am with you there, but a loss to Dallas would still be painful ...
I'm going to enjoy the last games we may be seeing Tim play, regular season and playoffs, and not take them for granted.
Mojo JoJo?
