Manning and Rodgers have won a ton of games the past few years without a running game or defense..
that's fine. i dont think anybody on this forum ever claimed Wilson was on par with top 5 qb's of all time like the ones you mentioned.
but remember during Rodger's superbowl run one of the big stories was Starks emerging in the playoffs, and for the season the Pack allowed less than 19 ppg

He wanted a new contract this off-season, we refused and gave him a little more guaranteed money this year. Based on his perceived value and age, and what TYPICALLY happens to backs as they get into that 30 age range, it's not worth the risk. Not to say that he won't play well the next two years, it's just not worth the risk. Have to wrap up the young core which we have outside of Wilson and Wagner, and move forward. He'll be 29 after this year.

Read between the lines...HGH became something they can test for, guys had to stop using, defense suffered.
