Because Asik wanted out.
Davis: 26pts, 17brds, 9blcks, 3,stls
Asik: 14pts, 17brds, 5blcks
Good lord!!! Any reason why Morey was desperate to trade Asik last season?
Wow.
I got Asik late in my fantasy draft, STEAL.
Indeed the best defensive front court in the league
Gortat syndrome
Damn! People are going to be getting their sent back this season.
this is what the sixers are hoping to emulate with Noel/Embiid, although those 2 just lack the natural length that Davis/Asik bring
God damn. Too bad their coach is Monty Williams tho...
just like the pistons are trying with monroe/drummond
todays young players lack something....
monroe isn't really a defensive prospect though. they'd be better off letting Josh Smith play the 4. Smith and Drummond would work well together on both ends
Very good potential, but they were playing one of the worst front courts in the league tonight.
Vucevic, O'Quinn, and Tobias Harris are all decent players. they're nothing special but i'd hardly call them one of the worst. if i'm a GM i'd take their frontcourt over indiana's
They are one of the worst, if not the worst (maybe PHX is worse) front courts. Having some decent players doesn't make them a good front court. They are young, small and not great defensively at all.
vucevic and harris can't defend, i'll grant you that. but we were mostly commenting on how good the Pelicans line looked defensively, not on the other end. the magic's lack of interior D shouldn't really affect how the Pelicans interior D looks on the other end...
They aren't that good. Go through the teams, look at the front courts and see where you end up ranking them. They are bottom 5 IMO even though they have individual guys who do some good things.
Could you imagine that D had they kept Noel? Noel is about the best shotblocker I have ever seen at that age.
I didn't get to watch the game much since the Royals are playing, but I'm happy with the result. Team has alot of potential. Could see a 50 win season out of nowhere just like the 2007-2008 season when CP3 had his breakout MVP year.
True, but Jrue Holiday fills a need at the point, especially with his defense and 3-point shooting.
Philly, Toronto, New York, Boston, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Phoenix are all worse and I don't think there would be much argument with those. I'd also argue them being better than Brooklyn, Indiana. I think they're on par with Denver and Charlotte (pending how good Vonleh turns out. they're currently starting marvin williams at the 4)
Depth is still a concern. Jimmer as the backup pg was horrible tonight: 0-6 shooting and he doesn't play defense. Other than Anderson, the bench is pretty weak. Austin Rivers has not made any improvement, and Salmons was a non factor. Gotta stay healthy.
Hopefully Russ Smith can solidify the backup guard spot. For now, I would make Rivers the backup PG. They need a backup center to step up as well. But the 2007-2008 had a terrible bench as well and this team has Anderson coming off the bench.
