Who are you quoting in the le there?
NOT...
real defensive anchor
Tim defending pick n rolls =![]()
Who are you quoting in the le there?
15-20% of spurstalk.
I can't believe there are still people who think he's overpaid. His passing and use in the pick and roll on the second unit are missed as well.
I'm pretty sure those people should have changed their tune by now. Tiago is the ing anchor, awkward at times but still the anchor. Duncan can't defend pick and roles or bigs that can shoot
Tiago is not a closer anyway so why are you bringing him up after a close loss, besides Kawhi didn't play much and scrubs got heavy minutes...
Do you see that :
^ Tiago on the bench in cheerleader mode because the series was in the balance... Did you see much Tiago in the WCF? or in the Finals? Tiago is a good blue collar guy like Mills (except Mills has bigger balls tbh) but we can beat good teams without them tbh.
the only reason that series was close was because Tiago was stopping Dirk you ing genius
imagine Dirk ting on whatever 4 we had in last years PLUS Ellis and the fluke shots destryoing us
No. Blair was making Tiago and his 9 mil look stupid
Splitter and Manu were undeniably our best players in round 1, and there wasn't really a close 3rd
Not saying we don't need Tiago but Diaw does fine against Dirk.
A straw man.
Then get it right: Splitter was by far the worst player of the 2013 Finals with the worst plus minus on either teams, got routinely blocked by midgets and simply crawled into the fetal position, so yeah Splitter cost the Spurs a ring and there's nothing you can do to spin that
...
wait what? Dirk scores at will on Diaw everytime we throw him out there
We won 4 without him...
Yeah yeah i know
I dun get how this is relevant now.
When we say Tiago sucks, we mean that there are better players we can get out there if we trade him.
Now, when he is injured, what are our alternatives? Baynes/ayres/more bonner? Of course it will look like we miss Tiago alot.
So ya, we would've won 5 without him "if we had a replacement". Not baynes/ayres/bonner
I'm Diaw's biggest fan but nah bro. He doesn't have the length to bother guys like Dirk or Aldridge who fadeaway and have high release points.
Splitter is a smart ass defender too, those guys are crafty (especially Dirk) and Splitter rarely ever fouls them yet always contests enough to make them uncomfortable. Spurs might not get past the 1st round w/o Splitter last year and they definitely don't dispatch the Blazers as easily as they did.
Yep.
Not a fan of him, but this team does need him in order to contend, unless the FO somehow lands Joakim Noah which is impossible

You mean people actually don't think Tiago's a beast?
Tiago is not the greatest player, but he's arguably the best rim protector on the team now and maybe one of the best in the league. He kept opponents to .441 shooting at the rim last season which ranks him between Serge Ibaka(.439) and Andrew Bogut(.45) amongst bigs who played more than 20 MPG. Combine that with how well he works in pick and roll and how good of a passer he is, and there's no question he's extremely important to the team winning.
Tiago is fine for this team, and so is Manu, TP, Boris, Danny, Pop, and even the Red Mamba when his role is used appropriately.
@JMcDonald_SAEN
Tiago Splitter practiced today. He's considered probable for Wednesday vs. Hawks.
good news tbh
Agreed
