The regular season is time to experiment, Pop makes a lot of lineups and rotation changes to find what works.
What's the big deal if he tries to play Leonard 35 minutes for at least 15 games?
If he doesn't improve or increase his numbers, we don't lose nothing and it'll be another regular season experiment. But we never know that if he never plays more minutes.
Agree but I think they won the finals with Leonard playing 35 minutes.
I lost. You asked "why the would a player care about playing an extra 5-10 minutes a game?" and your question was answered quoting Leonard, he needs those extra minutes to play at more consistent level, improve his game and increase numbers.
Now I don't know what are you talking about...I'm not reading between the lines, I was talking about why young players want more playing time. That was all.
Well why can't Leonard play more minutes ? Its not like he's 37, just play him 39 minutes a night like Brooks does with Durant.
Mentioning Durant and George (as wildchild does above) to make a case for Leonard getting more minutes kind of undermines your position.
true dat
We all expect the Spurs to blow out a lot of opponents. In these games Kawhi hopefully won't play 30+ minutes, which will lead to a drop in his mpg number.
Pop will play him big minutes in big games or when it's needed in close games. That's all that matters.
Typical asshole pop, tbh. He knows kawhi wants more mins (he should be playing more min) so he'll play his little mind games and play him less. It's pop's way of telling kawhi to “get over himself".
Not a max but should improve.
We need a running thread on Kawhi every game day for those of us who can't watch in terms of him showing max player potentialities.
Ik lol, I was trolling KL2
