Go Bill, go Bill
ESPN commentator Bill Simmons fired back at Mike Golic of ESPN Radio show Mike & Mike on Thursday, hours after Golic criticized Simmons on the show.
During a discussion about LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers' 1-3 start, Mike & Mike played a snippet of Simmons saying the situation reminded him "a little bit" of when baseball's Albert Pujols left the Cardinals for the Angels and saw his numbers dip.
"I think it’s one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve heard four games into a season in my life in any sport," said Golic in response. “That’s what I’ll say about Bill Simmons. So, you know, he grabbed a headline, which is something I know he loves — and that’s one of the most ridiculous lines I’ve ever heard in any sport in my life. Four games into a season. I don’t even … that’s ridiculous."
Golic is a huge though.

He's right though, Simmons comparing James to Pujols in Los Angeles of Anaheim is nuts 4 games in. Well, unless he's saying they both suck without the PEDs.

I don't really understand why that sets him off that badly? So someone called him out on a bad take and said he likes attention. What about that shows a lack of integrity.
Sounds more like Bill is using this to leverage something else.
It's pretty ty for an ESPN show to do it to another ESPN show. Besides, there are much worse takes on ESPN then that one.
Sure, and on other shows they clown each other for their takes all the time. I can get not liking it, but to meltdown that badly over something that appears so miniscule reeks of something else.
IMO Simmons prolly has an agenda behind these comments. Maybe he wants out of ESPN to take a position elsewhere? Heard Fox Sports 1 wanted to recruit him a while back tho I have no idea why he'd wanna be part of that show.
I think he's been upset since the suspension, and now he thinks they're out to get him... wouldn't be surprising to hear that some of the old guard is going after him, tbh
Yeah I think Simmons is at a point where he doesn't care what happens to him. While there has been more spoken on that warrants the blow-up, you can see he's pretty much said this b.s. (no pun intended).

Simmons is such a salty got, he can't even hide it. Don't jump to conclusions after 4 games as a sports analyst if you don't want to be laughed at, it's that simple.
Ya, Simmons coming off as a whiner self absorbed tool here. Instead of an opportunity to play back some of M&M's terrible takes and throw it in their faces in a hilarious way, he went the whiner route like Bomani Jones.
But isnt that what their industry built on nowadays? Knee-jerk reactions? And who "trends" off making calm lets wait and see takes?
I dont get the reason for attacking, M&M ... but when it comes to basketball Simmons is Pop and M&M is Dave Blatt tbh. They only really know football well (college and pro) and baseball (Greeny).
