Any thoughts as to whyPORTLAND -- A new study by the Police Bureau's Behavioral Health Unit showed 202 people committed suicide in Portland between April, 2011 and June, 2012.That's nearly double the number of homicides and traffic fatalities in Portland, combined, during that same time period. The number of people committing suicide in our area is appalling, said Portland Police Chief Mike Reese.

That was unfortunate. The lady died.![]()
Long, grey, drizzly winters.
Definitely something you have to get used to.
not so much
HmmmThe study also shattered some assumptions about suicide, like the time of year when they happen the most. The most suicides averaged out to be in the summer months, said Frank Silva, crime analyst with the bureau's Behavioral Health Unit and author of the study.I thought it was going to be winter or fall because of the weather, said Silva. I don't know why it's happening. I think that's the next step.
There is a dry side and a wet side.
Crater Lake must be incredible in the late spring when you still have all that snow on the ground. Is that video about what it looks like in June?
Yes, that would be my guess. The roads to get there aren't open much earlier than that. It's a pretty amazing place to see.
Okay, emo hipsters then.
It looks beautiful enough for me to visit for sure. I'll never move from SA cause it's dirt cheap and Texas has no income tax.
You ever backpack out there?
Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
I will retire in the great northwest - just have to figure out exactly where. Starting from Sonoma Cali - up north through the redwoods, Oregon coast and as far as Seattle.
Lots of wonderful areas to choose from.
Nah. My backpacking days were over many years ago. I usually went to the gorge or the coast range.
Love the pacific northwest tbh. Went to Mount Hood, Oregon for skiing once. I'd love to go to Bend, OR in the near future. Washington is still better though but Oregon is a whole lot cheaper to live, retire and shop tbh.
Oregon > Washington
I would have guessed you wouldn't move cuz of all the asian tail.
